What is one thing you would recommend someone visiting your country should do?

I’d recommend visiting one of our fascinating local bazaars. A piece of advice for anyone who chooses to visit Uzbekistan: spend your time there wisely by bargaining with the local sellers. You may find traditional, hand-made treasures to take home with you at a great price!

What are your top three Uzbekistan travel highlights?

  • Tashkent: Take a leisurely stroll along Broadway Alley, a charming and picturesque area filled with talented street artists, cozy cafes, and unique local shops. It’s the perfect setting for both locals and visitors to unwind and soak in the city’s atmosphere.
  • Bukhara: Visit the historic Ark Fortress, a massive citadel that has been the residence of many kings and Khans throughout the centuries. This architectural marvel provides stunning views of the old city.
  • Samarkand: Participate in the production of hand-made silk paper at the Samarkand Paper Mill, located in a serene natural setting. This unique experience allows you to learn about an ancient craft that has been preserved through generations.

Definitely don’t miss your chance to taste plov, our national dish that is made to be shared and bring people together. It’s made of rice and lamb, and is commonly enjoyed at weddings and other social events.

The best seasons for visiting Uzbekistan are spring and fall.
