Day 1: Welcome To Rwanda!

Today, you will arrive at Kigali airport. Afterward, transfer to the guesthouse.

Rwanda’s capital and biggest city stretches across lush hills surrounded by towering mountains, the largest of which is Mount Kigali, rising 1850 meters above sea level.

Kigali is the country’s financial, commercial and cultural hub, served by an international airport and featuring a wide range of accommodation options, restaurants, and points of interest, including the Kigali Genocide Centre, an atmospheric market and numerous craft shops. With its interesting architecture, busy streets, meandering boulevards, and green hillsides, Kigali is said to be one of the most attractive cities in Africa and is definitely worth a visit.

Day 2: Explore The Sights Of Kigali

Embark on a Kigali City Tour. Visit the Genocide Memorial and the National Museum. Also, marvel at the Nyamata Church.

Kigali City is Rwanda's capital city, as well as its cultural, transport, and economic hub. Visitors to the city can enjoy the sights of the beautiful hilly country, visit museums, memorials, markets, and art centres.

With its interesting architecture, busy streets, and green hillsides, Kigali is said to be one of the most picturesque cities in Africa.

Day 3: Travel To Majestic Kisoro

Situated near the base of the Virunga volcanoes, near Uganda’s border with the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, the little town of Kisoro is primarily used as a base for excursions into the surrounding mountains. These mountains are famous for being one of the only places on earth where you can witness mountain gorillas in the wild.

The area is home to an astonishing abundance of wildlife including 11 different species of primates, lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, and zebras, and countless bird species as well.

Today, enjoy a transfer from Kigali to Kisoro!

Day 4: Explore The Mghahinga National Park

The day is yours to spend in Kisoro! Highlights in the area include visits to a Pygmy village, swimming or canoeing in the scenic Lake Mutanda, or hiking the spectacular Virunga volcanoes.

The town itself hosts a local market where you can buy a wide variety of goods ranging from fresh fruits to fabrics. There are also plenty of shops along Kisoro’s main street, which are known for their skillfully produced handicrafts. Your main activity today is to go on Gorilla trekking in Mghahinga National park

Go On A Game Drive In Ishasha

Day 5: Go On A Game Drive In Ishasha

Located in southwestern Uganda, the Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the country’s most popular parks. Volcanic craters, grassy plains, tropical forests, and giant lakes connected by a channel inhabited by abundant hippos, are what you will see at the Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The park has almost 100 types of mammal and 606 different bird species, including the peculiar shoebill. The Kasinga Channel alone is said to contain the world's largest concentration of hippos, and other wildlife includes buffalo, the rare aquatic sitatunga antelope, giant forest hog, Uganda kob, Defassa waterbuck, and elephants.

Don't miss the Kyambura Gorge, which is home to habituated chimpanzees. Embark on a Game Drive to marvel at this gorgeous region!

Day 6: Embark On A Boatride In The Kazinga Channel

Spend the day in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is conveniently situated for wildlife viewing and Kyambura Chimp tracking.

The Bush Lodge forms an excellent base for your safari. The small scale set up built along ecological principals and the unique setting where animals room in and out the camp, offers a unique opportunity to experience a safari as it once was in East Africa

Kibale Forest National Park

Day 7: Enjoy A Game Drive To Kasenyi

Located in southern Uganda, Kibale Forest National Park is said to be home to the highest density of primates in Africa. Although the highlight of the park is the habituated chimpanzees, the treetops are alive with all manner of monkeys including the red-tailed monkey, L’Hoest's monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, red colobus, and black and white colobus monkeys.

When you’re not searching for monkeys, there are over 300 bird species and an incredible 250 species of butterfly to keep you busy. Visitors can look forward to chimpanzee tracking, birding tours, and guided nature walks

Day 8: Spend Time In Kibale Forest National Park

The most amazing of Kibale’s walks start from the Kanyanchu Visitor center in the morning.

Chimpanzees are the most sought after primate by visitors, but you should look out for the black and white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, or the grey-cheeked mangabey. Your guides will be able to show you pittas and different bird species.

The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a community development enterprise located on the fringe of Kibale National Park where guided tours are conducted along a path through the wetland. Bigodi is a birder's paradise with 138 bird species having been identified there.

Travel To Murchinson Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park

Day 9: Travel To Murchinson Falls National Park

Stretching from the shores of Lake Albert, Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest National Park. The Nile River flows through the middle of the park creating the impressive Murchison Falls which is the park’s major attraction.

The landscape features dense rainforests, swaying savannahs, and a diversity of abundant wildlife. Visitors can enjoy prime game-viewing along the Buligi Circuit.

The forests are home to numerous primates, including Chimpanzees. Near the river, buffaloes, elephants, and Rothschild-Giraffes can be seen. Other commonly spotted wildlife include grey-cheeked lions, antelopes, waterbucks, hippos, and crocodiles.

Hike To The Top Of The Murchinson Falls

Murchison Falls National Park

Day 10: Hike To The Top Of The Murchinson Falls

During the morning game drive to the delta centers, you will have the highest chances of spotting the large predators of Murchison Falls National Park. Water runs from Paraa to the base of the Falls.

For many, the three-hour return journey is a highlight of the trip to Murchison. Along the river, there are thousands of hippos, enormous crocodiles, amazing bird-life and even a possible sighting of the rare shoebill. A boat trip from Paraa to the Delta where the Victoria Nile enters Lake Albert offers excellent game viewing and birding opportunities. 

This hike to the top of the magnificent Murchison falls joined with a boat cruise on the Nile to the base of the falls. The boat leaves you at the base and you head for a 45 minute guided hike. While on this hike, you will have a great time gazing at rolling hills, vegetation, birds, and you will continue hearing the thunderous roars of the falls.

Try And Find The White Rhinos

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - Kampala

Day 11: Try And Find The White Rhinos

Enter the territory of the southern white rhinos on foot. Well-trained rangers will guide you through the bush to where the rhinos are on the day of your visit. You will get the opportunity to watch these endangered, magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

As these rhinos are free to move around on 7,000 hectares of land, it is often necessary to drive to the areas where the rhinos are before going on the trek.

You can hire one of Rhino Fund Uganda’s vehicles and a driver, at the reception. While at the sanctuary you may also encounter a range of other wildlife species including Uganda kobs, oribis, waterbucks, and a number of bird species.
