Your exciting family adventure kicks off at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, where upon arrival a driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel. The afternoon is at leisure before enjoying a delicious welcome dinner at a local restaurant where you’ll get your first taste of the rich and diverse flavours of Ghanaian cuisine. After dinner meet your welcoming tour guide and get swept up in the rhythm of African music and vibrant Ghanaian culture.

Tamale Airport - Karimenga
Day 2: Herbal Wonders
Touch down in Tamale this morning and enjoy a hearty lunch, before continuing to Karimenga. This enchanting place is all about cultural immersion, where you'll connect with the villagers and gain invaluable insights into their way of life.
In the afternoon, you can opt for a visit to the herbal health care project. Karimenga's unique location in the heart of the forest means easy access to herbal medicine, which the locals still rely on for their healthcare needs. It's a chance to witness the trees, grasses, and beliefs that play a crucial role in their healthcare practices and an opportunity to contribute to this vital project.

Dive headfirst into the local culture and traditions today, and experience the genuine warmth of the village residents. It's a day of discovery, where you'll participate in a range of activities that unveil the essence of this vibrant community.
Watch in awe as famous hand-woven baskets are crafted, experience the art of traditional house painting, and engage in the age-old practice of picking Shea fruits, a process that leads to the creation of luxurious Shea Butter. But that's not all—get your hands dirty and join in the farming activities that keep this village thriving.

Day 4: Wonder Women
Travel to Sirigu this morning, a fantastic village where local women are championing their art and culture. Here, they've not only preserved their heritage but also found pride in their work and skills and, in turn, have given themselves a renewed sense of identity.
This village is a treasure trove of beautiful pottery, intricate basketry, striking architecture, and charming decorative wall paintings. It's a place where the impact of women's handicrafts and traditional arts reaches far beyond artistry—many children's education and healthcare have been secured through the income generated by these remarkable women.

Day 5: Crafting Traditions
In the face of traditional skills fading as young women sought jobs elsewhere, seven determined women from Sirigu joined forces to create SWOPA, a remarkable initiative. Today, you'll dive headfirst into the rich local culture through a series of captivating activities organized by the SWOPA Women's Group. They'll offer you an authentic glimpse into the traditional crafts and practices that define this region.
Begin at the tourist centre, where a knowledgeable guide will take you through the gallery, gift shop, workshop, guesthouse, and the surrounding grounds. Afterwards, explore the enchanting neighbouring villages that dot the landscape around Sirigu and soak up the vibrant culture that radiates through this area.

Day 6: Sirigu's Art and Culture
Get creative this morning! Try your hand at pottery, or give basket weaving a go, then you’ll have the chance to buy a traditional pot or basket if yours didn’t quite turn out as good as you’d thought.
After this, your guide will take you to see several traditional houses adorned with stunning wall paintings. Here you’ll learn all about the meaning of each distinctive pattern and the symbolism of animals. Sirigu's art and culture are intertwined with its history and each building tells a story, one of dignity and care.

Tongo Tengzug Hills
Day 7: Tongo's Treasures
Journey to Tongo this morning, a place where the hills create a captivating U-shaped valley, open to the north. Upon arrival, you will meet the village chief, an honour that grants you access to the rooftop of the Chief's palace. From this vantage point, you'll witness village life unfold below, providing you with a truly unique cultural experience.
Wander through the mesmerising Tengzug Hills, where tradition dictates that you enter the sacred Tengzug shrine without a shirt. Explore the Old School, a formation of rocks that once served as the community's educational hub and the enigmatic hiding cave. After, visit the Whispering Rocks, named due to the intriguing whispering sounds the Harmattan wind makes as it sweeps through the rocks.

Mole National Park
Day 8: Wildlife Wonderland
Continue to Mole National Park today, Ghana's largest wildlife refuge. The park's crown jewel is its elephant population, with around 600 majestic creatures calling it home. In addition to these gentle giants, Mole National Park boasts an impressive array of wildlife, including primates, antelopes, waterbuck, warthogs, buffalo, and numerous other mammals.
After a morning of unforgettable wildlife, add a touch of history to the day with a visit to the Larabanga Mosque. After a full day tuck into a traditional Ghanaian dinner before enjoying a relaxing evening.

Day 9: Plant a Tree
Delve deeper into Mole National Park today, catching sight of the wonderful wildlife this park has to offer. As the day unfolds, you'll come across a unique wetland pool, a haven for birdwatching enthusiasts. Here, you'll be immersed in the symphony of birdcalls as you observe these feathered wonders in their natural habitat.
Your journey takes a cultural turn this afternoon as you venture into the neighbouring communities, learning all about their rich heritage.
There is an option to visit the Mognori community afterwards, to explore our CSR Tree Planting Project, surrounded by an abundance of mango, cashew, shea, and nim trees. You can choose to plant a tree in your name or that of a loved one, creating a lasting connection with the land and its people.

Day 10: Goodbye Ghana!
It's time to wave goodbye to Ghana this morning. Fly from Tamale Airport to Kotoka International where you will take your onward flight home!
