Day 1: Arrival in Salta

Welcome to Salta! This is one of many traveler’s favorite cities in Argentina. It offers outstanding museums, colonial architecture, lively cafés in the main plaza, and vibrant and authentic peñas where locals grab a table to watch their favorite folklore singers perform.

Upon arrival, you will be picked up by your driver at the airport and transferred to your hotel. You'll then have the rest of the day to yourself. You can rest at the hotel or venture out to explore, if you're excited to check out the city.

Salta - Humahuaca - Salta

Day 2: A tour through Jujuy and Humahuaca

Today, enjoy a tour through Humahuaca - a UNESCO Natural Heritage site. This is one of the most unforgettable routes that northern Argentina has to offer. It is the perfect mixture of natural landscapes and cultural artifacts!

En-route you'll visit Purmamarca, the most characteristic and picturesque part of Jujuy. A small town between multicolored mountains, here is where the warmth of the people will make your trip simply unforgettable. You will also pass by Maimara, known as 'the Painter's Palette'.

Arrive into Humahuaca in the afternoon and visit the Monument to the Heroes of Independence, before exploring more of the town and stopping for a typical lunch of local dishes. On the way back to Salta, visit the beautiful small towns of Uquia, Tilcara, and San Salvador de Jujuy. Then, arrive back into Salta for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Exploring the cultural side of Salta

After yesterday's extensive tour, you will have the opportunity to relax and go sightseeing at your own pace today. You could explore the highlights of the Colonial area, such as the cathedral, the Franciscan church, and the San Bernardo Convent. If history is your thing, go on an excursion to the world-famous museum where mummies from the High Andes are on display. If you are simply looking to relax, settle down in one of the many cafés in the main square - you could try visiting a peña and join the locals to eat and dance!

Day 4: Journey to San Pedro de Atacama

Say goodbye to Argentina for now, as you journey over to Chile! Early in the morning, you'll travel to San Pedro de Atacama - a small town in the driest desert of the world, featuring little adobe houses and cozy restaurants.

You will cross the Andes through the Paso de Jama, one of the highest international passes in the world. Enjoy the ride, during which you can gaze out the window and enjoy stunning Altiplano scenery.

Day 5: Tour the surreal Moon Valley

Today you'll experience the Atacama Desert, one of the world’s driest and most hostile zones. In the afternoon, you will be picked up for your excursion to the impressive Valle de la Luna, also known as the Moon Valley. The trip will take you through the desert to unique forms of salt and clay, such as the Three Marias. Enjoy an exciting excursion into the salt caves before the highlight of your adventure: waiting for the Atacama sunset. Soak in the wonderful landscapes and colors of the mountains under the golden sun, with the Licancabur volcano standing as an age-old witness to a new evening in the desert!

Day 6: A relaxing day at the Tatio geysers

Wake up early in the morning to travel from San Pedro de Atacama into the Andes mountain range, where you will enjoy experiencing the most astonishing natural phenomena in Chile. Watch the contrasting colors produced by steam columns in the highest geothermal field in the world!

Take your chance to snap impressive photographs while walking over the field. If a warm, natural bath sounds up your street, you'll have the unique opportunity to swim in El Tatio's spring waters - a great way to relax amidst Chile's natural landscape.

Day 7: Explore the ethereal Salar de Uyuni

Today, it's time for an exciting adventure in Bolivia - get your gear ready and don't forget your camera! You will ride a 4x4 vehicle across the Bolivian salt flats, against a background of mountains, volcanoes, geysers and clear blue skies.

Visit the Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca, located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. Then, admire the surreal landscapes of the Salvador Dali Desert, thermal water pools, and the Sol de Mañana geysers. The day's journey concludes at the Laguna Colorada, the main nesting center of more than 30,000 flamingos!

Day 8: Spend the night at a salt hotel

Another fantastic day of natural pursuits is on the cards: you'll begin with a visit to the Siloli Desert, where you'll marvel at impressive sets of rock formations. Continue to the high plain lagoons, also known as the colored lagoons of Laguna Honda, Chiarcota, and Cañapa, before exploring the Chiguana salt flat and San Juan town. Finally, it's time to journey to your very unique accommodation for tonight: a salt hotel - there is no better way to end your visit to Bolivia!

Day 9: Say goodbye to Bolivia

Use your last day to its fullest! Spend the morning taking a tour around the Uyuni Salt Flat, visiting the town of Colchani on the outskirts of the salt flat, and then heading to the tranquil Bolivian city of Uyuni, where you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. Although your trip is over, it has surely been an experience you will never forget.
