Depending on your time of arrival in Tanzania, you can decide for yourself on the spot if you would like to have a short safari briefing with your guide on the same day or the next morning.

The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure. Enjoy the hotel, relax, and get ready to start your adventure.

Tarangire National Park

Day 2: Explore Tarangire National Park

The Tarangire National Park is just two and a half hours drive from Arusha. If you wish, you can stop at any time en route for a short stop at a stall or for a tour of a market

In the afternoon, you will drive into the Tarangire National Park, which has the highest concentration of wildlife after the Serengeti. During the dry season, the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. The park is not only home to migratory herds and various predators, but also hundreds of impressive bird species.

The Tarangire National Park is also known for its spectacular baobabs (monkey-bread trees), as well as for its breathtaking views of the Maasai steppe and mountains to the south.

In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Visit the Tribes of Tanzania

Lake Eyasi

Day 3: Visit the Tribes of Tanzania

Today, one of the most impressive experiences of the cultural program awaits you.

The Hadzabe, an indigenous ethnic group in Tanzania, live near the shores of Lake Eyasi and in the southern Serengeti.

There is no better way for you to get a glimpse into the life of the indigenous people of Tanzania than the Hadzabe. You will be impressed by the way in which these people live in harmony with nature. You will also have the opportunity to try your hand at using a bow and arrow, and if you want, you can also take part in the traditional tribal dance!

After lunch at the nearest lodge, head to the Datoga tribe. Visit the dwellings and experience the culture of these people first-hand.

In the late afternoon, you will return to the lodge to spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Visit A Maasai Village!

Serengeti National Park

Day 4: Visit A Maasai Village!

Your guide will drive you off the beaten track to a Maasai village where you can learn more about the rituals, ways of life and culture of these people. You will be greeted in the village by a ceremony in which the young men dance and try to jump as high as possible on the spot to prove their strength.

Then take a look in the clay huts and discover jewelry handmade by the Maasai.

The drive to the Serengeti takes several hours, enabling you to enjoy the vastness of the landscape. Depending on your requests, you can include elements from the extensive cultural programme as part of this full-day tour.

Take a break at Naabi Hill Gate, the entry point to the Serengeti, where you can climb the little lookout point, before continuing your journey to your accommodation. On the way there, you might also spot some animals.

The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure.

Day 5: Go on a Picture Safari In Serengeti National Park

Start your photo safari today in the most famous wildlife reserve in the world – the Serengeti. In addition to the vast grassland, from which granite rocks are known as "Kopjes" often protrude, there are also incredible natural spectacles awaiting you in the oldest national park in Tanzania.

More than 1.5 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of Thompson gazelles, 200,000 zebras, elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and many other species live there. Depending on the season, your guide will choose the area where you are most likely to observe the migratory herds.

Equipped with lunch packages, you will spend the whole day game driving. In the afternoon, you will return to your lodge.

Look for Wildlife in the Serengeti

Serengeti National Park

Day 6: Look for Wildlife in the Serengeti

Today you will once more be in the Serengeti in search of wonderful animals. Your guide will use their trained eye to show you things that you wouldn't notice on your own. Of course, the elephant, lion, cheetah and the shy leopard are once again the focus of your search.

Nevertheless, the pretty impala, the funny warthogs with their tails standing straight upright, hyenas, zebra- and buffalo herds and proud giraffes create beautiful photo opportunities, too.

On the river banks, you will find crocodiles and hippos. Equipped with lunch packages, you will spend the whole day game driving. In the afternoon, you will return to your lodge.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Travel to Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

Day 7: Travel to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will leave the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. A full-day safari in the largest volcanic crater in the world promises you unique experiences!

The Ngorongoro caldera is not only populated by more than 360 bird species, but also up to 25,000 large mammals. The Ngorongoro Crater is also the place you are most likely to see all the Big Five – elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard. You will be particularly lucky if you discover one of the endangered black rhinos because, apart from in the crater, there are only a few of them living in the Serengeti.

What is special about the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is that, unlike other national parks, the Maasai can live side by side with the wildlife to continue their culture and rituals in the place in which they have been doing so for centuries.

In the late afternoon, you will return to the lodge.

Your guide will take you to Arusha airport, from where you will fly to Zanzibar. The impressive approach to Zanzibar will stay with you as a wonderful memory.

At Zanzibar airport, a local guide will greet you and take you to your hotel. You can expect a wonderful and relaxing stay on the snow-white beaches of the Spice Island of Zanzibar.
