Day 1: Welcome To Sri Lanka!

Welcome to wonderful Sri Lanka! Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, your designated driver-guide will warmly welcome you at the arrival lounge.

Following a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to familiarize yourself with the new environment.

Day 2: Go On A Private Jeep Safari At Udawalawe

Have breakfast at your hotel and leave for Udawalawe. On your arrival check in and relax.

In the afternoon, set out on an exclusive private jeep safari at Udawalawe, located in Sri Lanka's south-central sector. This area most resembles an African game park. Wildlife reports say there are about 500 elephants in the park and they often roam in herds of up to 100.

Leopards, buffalo, deer, and sloth keep them company along with mongooses, bandicoots, foxes, water monitor lizards, and crocodiles. A half-day tour in your own private jeep with driver and guide is the best way to see the 30,821 hectares of protected area within the Udawalawe Reservoir.

Day 3: Discover The Rich Biodiversity Of Sri Lanka At Yala

Get ready for more amazing wildlife! After breakfast, leave for Yala National Park. Spend the afternoon on an exclusive private jeep safari at Yala National Park.

Yala National Park is home to the greatest biodiversity in Sri Lanka. Its varying habitats, consisting of scrub plains, jungles, rocky outcrops, freshwater lakes, rivers, and beaches, provide a home to many animal species including sloth, herds of elephants, buffalo, monkeys, sambar, deer, and crocodiles.

The endangered leopard sub-species, Pardus Pantherakotiya, which is found only in Sri Lanka, can be seen here as well.

Day 4: Explore The Beautiful Yala National Park

Wake up and enjoy a delicious breakfast!

Today you are free to explore Yala National Park at your own pace. Set off on a full-day safari in the Park. Stay in Yala overnight.

Bundala - Tangalle

Day 5: Visit The Stunning Bundala National Park

Prepare for go on an early morning safari at Bundala National Park with a naturalist guide. Bundala is a picture perfect national park bordering the ocean fringed with sand dunes and dotted with numerous lagoons.

The five lagoons of this park are some of the most important wintering areas for migratory shorebirds in the country, regularly accommodating over 15,000 at once!

This park is the last refuge of the greater flamingo and during the northeast monsoon up to 2000 flamingoes have been spotted. Thereafter, proceed to Tangalle. Spend the evening at leisure by the beach and stay in Tangalle for the night.

Day 6: Go On A Bird-Watching Safari At Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary

Get ready for an early morning bird-watching safari at Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary. Almost all of the common wetland birds can be seen here. The most popular species include the slaty-breasted crake, watercock and black bittern.

During the northern winter, the glossy Ibis may be present with thousands of waders. the grey mongoose and Hanuman langur are the mammals most likely to be seen.

Continue your journey to Mirissa. Check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure by the beach or the pool.

Day 7: Marvel At Blue Whales And Sperm Whales

Enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then proceed to Mirissa Fishery's Harbour, where you will head out to the deep sea to look for blue and sperm whales.

This tour is designed to maximize your chances of seeing these incredible animals during their annual migration (Mid-November to April). Here, blue whales, in particular, are seen relatively close to shore, as the continental shelf is narrow to the South of Dondra.

In addition to the whales, the area is also known to be home to dolphins and turtles and you will spend the morning searching for these fascinating creatures. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing at the beach or pool.
