Day 1: Arrival In Bucharest

Welcome to Bucharest! On your first day, you will pick up your rental car at the airport and you will have the opportunity to explore the capital of Romania, Bucuresti. Depending on your arrival hour, use your time here to take a long walk on the streets of Bucharest, to visit some of the attractions in town or just to drive around the city.

Sibiu

Day 2: Explore The Medieval City of Sibiu

In the morning, you will drive from Bucharest to Sibiu. You will drive through a beautiful road that crosses the Carpathian mountains following the Olt river. In the afternoon, you will have time to explore the medieval city of Sibiu, the former cultural European capital. You will discover here its narrow streets, old buildings, historical walls and cozy cafes. Enjoy your sightseeing in Sibiu!

Day 3: A Castle In Transylvania

Today, you will start with a long walk in the white citadel of Romania, Alba-Iulia, a star-shaped citadel full of history and beautiful meaning for Romanian people. Here took place the big Unification of Romania after the First World War, on 1 December 1918, that became later the national day of Romania. Afterwards  you can visit Corvinilor castle, a medieval castle remained intact, one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture this magnificent building.

Turda - Bontida - Cluj

Day 4: Visit Turda Salt Mine

After breakfast, you will visit a natural wonder in Romania - Turda salt mine, a veritable history museum of salt mining. Business Insider voted Turda salt mine as the coolest underground attraction in the world. Go underground and enjoy the salty air which is good for your lungs. After that, pass near Cluj and stop in Bontida to visit the ruins of an amazing castle. 

Cluj - Ogra

Day 5: The Beautiful Ogra Castle

In the morning, you will discover one of the biggest cities in Romania and the most modern among all of them - Cluj Napoca. Visit trendy cafes and restaurants, hipster pubs and ancient buildings mixed together to form the great atmosphere; a combination of old and new. In the afternoon, head towards Targu Mures and spend the night in a special place - a real castle, the beautiful Ogra Castle!

Targu Mures - Sighisoara

Day 6: The Ancient City Targu Mures

Today, you will visit another old city in Romania, Targu Mures. Its interesting buildings and old citadel, renovated a few years ago, will convince you that it really deserves a stop here. Take a walk in the city center, observe the mix of Romanian and Hungarian cultures and climb one of the most beautiful streets with stairs in Romania. But don’t stop here, because Sighisoara is waiting for you!

Biertan - Sighisoara

Day 7: A Day For Knights And Citadels

You will spend your day enjoying some beautiful citadels from Transylvania and their medieval atmosphere. In the morning, you will start with a visit to the big fortified church in Biertan, a small citadel in an isolated village. In the afternoon, you will go for a slow walk through beautiful old houses, knights and artistic shops in the citadel of Sighisoara, the only medieval citadel in Europe, still inhabited. This place is definitely worth your visit!

Viscri - Rupea - Brasov

Day 8: Explore Rupea And Brasov

Today, you will explore the attractions on the way to Brasov. You will stop in Viscri to see the secret place of Prince Charles here in Transylvania and visit Rupea citadel. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the mix of old towers, ancient buildings, modern pubs and nature in Brasov, another important medieval beauty in Transylvania. This city has something for everybody!

Bran Castle - Peles Castle - Bucharest

Day 9: Visit The Castles In Transylvania

After breakfast, you will explore the surroundings of Brasov. You will visit the most known castles in Transylvania, Peles castle and Bran castle, the famous count Dracula’s castle. Peles castle situated in the beautiful resort Sinaia will enchant you with green gardens, opulent decorations, and old furniture. Bran castle, known for its connection with count Dracula, will tell you its story and reveal its secrets. You will go back to Bucharest and enjoy your last night in Romania in one of the animated pubs in old town.

Day 10: Goodbye, Bucharest!

Say goodbye to Romania and go to Henri Coanda airport, just in time to catch your plane back home. Your trip in Romania has been wonderful. Share this experience with your friends and family!
