Day 1: Welcome to Madagascar!

Welcome to the incredible island of Madagascar! You'll land in Antananarivo where you'll be met by your driver to take you into town. Look out the window at the vibrant colors as you go. 

You'll have time to relax and enjoy your beautiful hotel in the urban center where you'll have a delicious dinner and rest up for all the exciting activities to come tomorrow.

Day 2: Exciting Wildlife Adventures

On your first full day, you'll wake up and drive eastward to Andasibe to visit some of the best national parks in Madagascar. You'll visit the Mitsinjo Park which has a lot of animal, tree, and flower species to see. The private park is well-known for its diversity of amphibian species, especially the colored frogs and for its large amount of reptile species notably the bright-colored chameleon, lots of geckos, and snakes.

Next, visit VOI, a small local reserve managed by local people which also protects different species of animals and flowers. Lastly, you'll visit Vakona Private Park, which is famous for its lemur islands, its crocodile park, but also the possibility of a night visit to have the chance to see nocturnal species.

A Visit to Andasibe National Park

Day 3: A Visit to Andasibe National Park

Today, you will spend the morning of day three visiting the incredible Andasibe National Park where you will find 11 species of lemurs, many species of birds, large chameleons, an orchid park, rosewood trees, lianas, and more. Your local guide will take you through the forest, helping you spot the animals in their natural habitats. In this forest, the largest of the lemurs, the Indri, can found.

Along with your guide, you can choose between different hikes ranging from two to eight hours. You'll trek through the jungle on secret paths throughout the park, getting up close and personal with some of Madagascar's most amazing wildlife.

Day 4: Visit a Small Local Nature Reserve

On this special day, you'll visit a small community-based reserve where you'll take a tour with locals. You'll also meet lemurs, birds, and chameleons. You'll take a number of nature walks and explore the full range of the area. Your local guide will help you to best spot some of the animals going about their days as usual. You'll also spend a little time at the visitors center there.

In the evening, return to your lovely hotel where you can relax and rest before dining on traditional food nearby.

Day 5: Journey to Incredible Akanin'ny Nofy

After spending a day with lemurs enjoying the richness of Andasibe's primary forest, you'll drive to Manambato, a coastal village in the east of the country. On the way, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the typical greenery of the National Road, bordered on both sides of one of Madagascar's emblems: the Ravinala. Also known as the "Traveler's Tree," the Ravinala is an incredible work of nature.

Once in Manambato, you will be transferred by boat to Akanin'ny Nofy, "dream nest" in Malagasy, a small haven of peace lost in the east of Madagascar where you will stay in a beautiful hotel, the Palmarium. The hotel has a private reserve that you will visit by night in order to see the famous Aye-Aye lemur.

Day 6: Boat Cruise and a Village Tour

Today, the whole day will be spent at Akanin'ny Nofy so that you can enjoy plenty of relaxing activities nearby and visit their private reserve with many different kinds of lemurs.

During this day, you can ask for a boat tour on the famous Pangalanes’ channel or request a village visit. You'll enjoy these tours with your local English speaking guide. This way, you will discover the daily life of the people of Madagascar. Afterwards, you can relax on the Ampitabe lakeshores and admire the peaceful beauty offered at sunset.

Day 7: Journey Back to Antananarivo

After two wonderful days spent in Akanin'ny Nofy, you will be taken back to the village of Manambato. Along the way, you'll have time to stop at different points of interest with your local guide. You can stop in nature reserves once more or take the back roads through some beautiful scenic areas. When you arrive in Manambato, you'll have a delicious lunch.

From there, you will be driven back to the city of Antananarivo. Check into your hotel for the night and spend the rest of the day enjoying the city and relaxing after an exciting few days.

Day 8: Goodbye Madagascar!

After an incredible time exploring this unique and wonderful country, it's time to say goodbye. You'll have a day free to wander through Antananarivo where you can eat your fill of yummy local food and shop for some last souvenirs. When it's time for your flight, head to the airport and depart for home. You'll have plenty of exciting stories to share with your family and friends when you get back!
