Day 3: Into the charming Chianti countryside

Today, say goodbye to Florence as you journey on to the region of Chianti. There, you'll reach the charming town of Greve in Chianti to explore its historic square and local artisan shops, before settling down in your accommodation for the evening.

As part of your travels today, you could also set out on an e-bike tour through the picturesque Chianti countryside, passing vineyards and olive groves filled with sun-drenched beauty. You'll find no better way to enjoy lunch than with a picnic in the heart of the country, surrounded by panoramas of rolling hills.

The rich flavours of Montalcino

Day 4: The rich flavours of Montalcino

From your base in Chianti, take a day trip to Montalcino - a medieval Tuscan town south of Siena, famous for its Brunello di Montalcino red wine. There, pay a visit to a renowned vineyard for a wonderful wine tasting experience.

You'll then have time to explore the streets of Montalcino, taking in the characterful architecture and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside as you lose yourself amidst its age-old charms. Tuck into a traditional Italian meal for dinner, before returning to Chianti for an overnight stay.

A day in stunning Siena

Day 5: A day in stunning Siena

Good morning! Wake up to another wonderful day trip programme, this time taking you into the heart of Siena. This much-loved destination is home to a UNESCO-listed historic centre, which comprises the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, a Gothic-style town hall, and the 14th-century Torre del Mangia. Take a walking tour to uncover all the secrets and treasures of the city's medieval-era streets, before returning to your base for a relaxing afternoon. Overnight stay in Chianti.

Venture into Volterra

Day 6: Venture into Volterra

This morning, leave Chianti's vine-cloaked hills behind as you transfer to your next destination: the walled town of Volterra. Located southwest of Florence, this is certainly one of the most intriguing places to visit on your Tuscan itinerary.

Spend the day exploring this ancient Etruscan town, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and rich history. Wander down winding streets in the historic centre, stopping to admire landmarks such as the Palazzo dei Priori and the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta. Don't miss your chance to explore the ruins of the Roman Theatre, which date back to the 1st century B.C.

Finally, enjoy a traditional Tuscan dinner at a local restaurant, sampling dishes like wild boar stew and truffle-infused pasta, before kicking back for your overnight stay in Volterra.

The penultimate day of your trip has arrived, but worry not - it's packed with even more marvels for you to uncover! In the morning, you'll take a transfer to Pisa, where you'll get to explore the Piazza dei Miracoli - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the Pisa Cathedral and none other than the iconic Leaning Tower.

Enjoy a scenic ride through the Tuscan countryside as you journey on to the charming city of Lucca, perhaps best-known for its intact Renaissance walls. Relax for a while on the banks of the Serchio river, before cycling along the city walls and soaking up panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

For dinner, sample delicious Tuscan cuisine at a local trattoria or restaurant in Lucca, before bedding down for your last overnight stay.
