Today, you'll enjoy a programme of cultural and historical discoveries in the heart of Athens. First up is the Acropolis Museum, where you'll take a deep dive into Greek history and culture. Continue on to the charming streets of the Plaka district, known for its Neoclassical architecture, vibrant atmosphere and quaint shops.

You'll also have the chance to join a culinary tour of Athens, visiting the Varvakios Central Market to stock up on the freshest Mediterranean fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and more. A delectable dinner of local delicacies awaits before a relaxing overnight stay in Athens.

Day 3: Journey to Olympia

From Athens, you'll make the journey to Olympia today, driving along the scenic coast and past the Corinth Canal - an artificial canal connecting the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea.

Make a stop along the way to explore the ancient theatre in Epidaurus, and upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of Olympia - the site of the first Olympic Games. After a day of wonder and intrigue, settle down for a traditional meal at a local taverna, followed by an overnight stay in Olympia.

Day 4: Visit the home of the Delphic oracle

Today, leave Olympia behind for another destination rich in history and archaeological wonder: Delphi. Hike through the surreal landscape and learn about the history and significance of the six monasteries, before experiencing a magnificent sunset from a designated viewpoint. Day 6: Travel to coastal Thessaloniki

Today, say goodbye to Meteora as you pack up and journey on to your next destination: Thessaloniki, just shy of three hours' drive away.

Upon your arrival into this fantastic coastal hub, visit the symbolic White Tower for panoramic views of the Thermaic Gulf, and explore the tower's museum to learn about the city's maritime heritage. Take a leisurely walk along Nea Paralia, the famous waterfront area, or wander through the charming streets of Ano Poli for a glimpse of local life. Day 7: Return to Meteora

If you didn't do so the day before, take the morning to explore Ano Poli and wander through its narrow cobblestone streets, admiring the Byzantine architecture, traditional houses, and picturesque views of the city below. Then, leave Thessaloniki behind for a return journey to Meteora.

Take time to unwind at your accommodation in Meteora, then set out to explore the nearby town of Kalampaka, which serves as the gateway to Meteora. Day 8: Head back to the capital!

Today, you'll continue your travels as you journey back from Meteora to Athens.

In the late afternoon, head to Lycabettus Hill, the highest point in Athens, for panoramic views of the city and a stunning sunset. You can choose to hike up the hill or take the funicular railway for a more leisurely ascent.

Come evening, explore the trendy neighbourhoods of Psiri or Koukaki, known for their excellent dining options, before retreating to your accommodation for the night.

Day 9: Laid-back island living on Mykonos

Today, swap the wonders of Mainland Greece for the all-out bliss and tranquillity of the Greek Islands! Transfer from Athens to Mykonos, where you'll have time to settle into your accommodation and soak up the cosmopolitan island atmosphere.

Explore the two harbours of Mykonos Town, lined with picturesque windmills; discover heavenly remote sands at Psarou and Super Paradise Beaches; wander through the narrow streets of Little Venice, known for its colourful houses; and experience authentic Mykonian cuisine at a local taverna. Day 10: Soak up the history of Delos island

From Mykonos, today you'll take a day trip to the island of Delos, the mythological birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. There you'll get to explore the ancient ruins, including temples, statues, and mosaics, and learn about the island's significance as a religious and cultural centre.

Soak up panoramic views of the surrounding islands from the hill of Mount Kynthos, before returning to Mykonos. You'll have the rest of the day to enjoy at leisure, either relaxing by the sea or exploring more of the island.

Day 11: Santorini's unforgettable sunset

Today, you'll travel from Mykonos to Santorini by ferry or flight. Another stunning Greek island is yours to uncover today!

Spend your time admiring Santorini's iconic architecture and sprawling views over the caldera. Explore the villages of Fira and Oia, known for their whitewashed buildings, and watch the sunset from a cliffside viewpoint in Oia. End the day by indulging in delicious local cuisine at a seaside restaurant, ahead of an overnight stay in Santorini.

Day 12: A day of outdoor pursuits on Santorini

Today is yours to make the most of Santorini's picturesque landscapes. You could partake in invigorating outdoor activities, such as hiking along the crater rim of the caldera; experience a wine tasting tour, sampling Santorini's renowned volcanic wines; and explore the ancient site of Akrotiri, known as the Minoan Pompeii. Today, transfer from Heraklion to Chania on Crete's northwestern coast. Today you'll set out to explore the sights and sounds in and around Chania, including the traditional villages of Apokoronos, known for their authenticity. Visit quaint artisan shops and galleries showcasing handmade crafts, and discover lesser-known gems like the town of Vamos, with its cobblestone streets, unspoiled appeal and tranquil atmosphere.
