Jordan was a wonderful country to visit & TravelLocal's experts sorted out an active itinerary for us which was precisely as we wanted - a great trip

TravelLocal's experts sorted out an active itinerary for us which was precisely as we wanted - a great trip. The whole process worked extremely well. I came across TravelLocal trawling through the internet & it seems like a great idea that one can be put in touch with a local travel agency which has been vetted & recommended, with the added security of paying etc. in the UK. I would strongly recommend others to go the same way. The local company organised us exactly the kind of active itinerary we were after. Everything was well-organised & all the guides/drivers we met were reliable, punctual & friendly (as was almost everyone in Jordan). The guides in particular were knowledgable locals, & great company. Do I have any criticisms? Well some of the hiking was quite arduous, which suited us, but perhaps some guidance about that in advance might save others from biting off more than they had intended - but at the same time I liked the way we were treated as adult travellers, rather than being mollycoddled! There were 1 or 2 instances where we weren't quite sure what was happening next - i.e. who was going to meet us & where. It all actually took place seamlessly but a little more advance detail of the nitty gritty would have been helpful. We would do the same trip again in the same way starting tomorrow!

What was good about our local partner based in Jordan?

TravelLocal's local experts organised us exactly the kind of active itinerary we were after. Everything was well-organised & all the guides/drivers we met were reliable, punctual & friendly (as was everyone in Jordan). The guides in particular were knowledgeable locals & great company. Ibrahim in the local office seemed to keep track of our progress & made contact from time to time to check that all was going well. We felt very well looked-after!

What could our local partner based in Jordan improve on?

What did you think about the guides or drivers on your trip?

Excellent

What advice would you give to other travellers planning a trip to Jordan?

Go there - and do it through the same organisational route. If you are reasonably active, include the trek from Dana to Little Petra or Petra through the mountains - very beautiful - and spend at least a couple of days walking in Wadi Rum - possibly even more beautiful. Do some research (as we did) & plan your visit to Petra so you can get off the beaten track there a bit & stay away from the afternoon crowds.

What was the most memorable part of your trip?

Impossible to choose between the Dana mountain trek & Wadi Rum.
