Such a diverse country. The people are so gentle and caring, especially as they have been through so much. The scenery changes at every location/state and they are all beautiful. The only down side is the plastic, which is everywhere. Sad and will cause major issues in the future I think. Every that was suggested we go to was perfect, except I would suggest not going to Kalaw unless starting a trek, as there isn't much there and an extra night in the stunning Inle Lake area would be much better. The beaches are the most stunning I have seen, so make sure you allow time for these too.
The smoothness of all travel arrangements, from being met at airports to being taken to all of the destinations and villages.
Just keep doing what you're doing.
All 4 of our guides and all drivers were super friendly, knowledgable and a pleasure to be around. They couldn't do enough for us.
Omit Kalaw unless trekking, take warm clothes for the mountains, spend time and Inle Lake and the beaches. Take any spare childrens clothes with you as they will really be appreciated.
Staying in Hotel Hu Pin on the Inle Lake. Make sure you book a room actually on the lake. Costs a little more, but so worth it.
