The sights visited, especially Petra and Jerash, were spectacular and above all the Jordanian people were so kind, helpful and friendly. Our driver, Ali, was wonderful - very safe as a driver, so kind and very knowledgeable too. Accommodation was excellent too and it felt like one of the safest countries we've ever visited, no concerns whatsoever.
The whole experience of dealing with TravelLocal's experts was very smooth. The itinerary was amended several times to suit our requirements and it was apparent that the main criteria of the local company was to ensure that we experienced a lovely holiday. Their representatives could not have been more helpful.
The only suggestion I can think of would be for the company to ensure clients are not booked into rooms at the front of the Geneva Hotel in Amman as it can be noisy from the traffic. We stayed at the Geneva on 2 separate occasions and our driver kindly made sure we were booked into a room at the back of the hotel for our second visit which solved the problem.
Our driver, Ali, was a joy to travel with, he made us feel completely welcome and was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. He pointed out interesting sites en route and was a very safe driver. He treated us to several items of local food to sample and was one of the reasons that our holiday was so special.
Jordan is definitely well worth a visit. A wonderful holiday combining interesting visits to historic sites such as Petra and Jerash with relaxation at the Red Sea and Dead Sea. If you are planning a night in a Bedouin camp as part of your holiday I would suggest just packing an overnight bag for your visit there rather than taking all your luggage with you. That way you are travelling light for your jeep trip into Wadi Rum. Have no fears, Jordan is a very safe place to visit and the Jordanian people are a delight! Book yourself a holiday of a lifetime asap.
The whole trip was memorable for so many different reasons but if I had to narrow it down, I would say the visits to Petra and Jerash, along with bathing in the Dead Sea were the best parts combined with meeting some of the friendliest (and most welcoming) people I have ever had the pleasure to encounter.
