We asked for a trip that packed as much in as possible to make to most of our time in Uganda and we certainly got that! The variety of activities was great and spread around and so we didn't get too much of any one thing at a time. The guides were fantastic and everything worked like clockwork. Because of Covid the trip had to be scheduled several times (we ended up with itinerary version 12!) At all stages Travel Local was very helpful and understanding.
Rachel and Diana were very accessible for discussion as we planned the trip and also later when things needed to change due to Covid, and also during the trip itself when we wanted to upgrade some rooms. They came up with a superb itinerary with a range of great activities, some of which we wouldn't have considered before and pieced it all together so that the trip ran like clockwork
All the guides were good, but special mention has to go to those on our trek, Dan, Robert and Abraham who did a fantastic job, and also to Tom who accompanied us all the way round the country with relaxed good humour and a sense of confidence. Thank you!
As well as the 'normal' safari things to do do find time to include some cultural trips. The crater lakes village and vanilla farm turned out to be very interesting. The water safari on the Kazinga channel was outstanding!
Surprisingly perhaps, I think that the part of the trip that will stay with us the longest is the trek into the Rwenzori mountains. What an enchanting place, plus the sense of achievement of a difficult trek accomplished. These four days were so different from the rest of the trip. A great contrast which broke up the wildlife viewing and made it all the better
