Thanks for a lovely time in Jordan

We had an excellent time on holiday in Jordan - fantastic sights, lovely people and good food - with very few complaints. Our driver Fawaz was kind, efficient and a great source of humour and entertainment for us. He made the trip easy to enjoy. The hotels were clean and comfortable, and matched our expectations. The only exception to this was the Amra Palace Hotel in Petra, which was disappointing - it was very worn down, the power repeatedly failed on one evening, and the food was poor. Given the number of other hotels available in Wadi Musa, we would much rather have stayed somewhere else. Our itinerary was very varied and we enjoyed what we saw very much. For very understandable reasons, we were not able to do the "wet trail" down the Siq in Wadi Mujib - it has closed early due to flooding and several deaths there a few days earlier. We were, however, a little disappointed not to have been informed by your local partners in Jordan that this was not possible - it took a phone call from us to establish what was happening. We would have preferred more communication of changes to the itinerary. But overall, we had an excellent time and would happily return to Jordan and use Travel Local again. Thank you.

What was good about our local partner based in Jordan?

Very quick and helpful replies to all my queries. They organised a very god itinerary.

What could our local partner based in Jordan improve on?

Only the communication of changes to the itinerary once we were in Jordan - we understand why we could not do the trail in Wadi Mujib, but nobody told us that it was not possible until we made inquiries.

What did you think about the guides or drivers on your trip?

Fawaz was an excellent driver, and very good company during our trip. We liked him very much. Our only request would be for him to make clearer how long we had to visit each place - what we thought were suggested times for the visits to some sights were actually more like deadlines and we arrived back to the car "late" because we thought we could stay for longer.

What advice would you give to other travellers planning a trip to Jordan?

Two days at Petra were an absolute must - there is so much to see. We enjoyed all the sights we visited, especially Jerash and Wadi Rum.

What was the most memorable part of your trip?
