Thank you so much for organising such a fab trip. Everything from transfers, guides, hotels and trips was taken care of to the highest standard and we we able to completely relax and enjoy our holiday without any stress. Our guides were really friendly, spoke great English and were happy to help. We particularly enjoyed finding out from them about life in Vietnam today. Jack, our guide in and around Hanoi, and our driver, Mr To, deserve a special thank you for making that part of the trip such good fun. The itinerary was very well thought out and we had a good balance of city time and time to relax in the countryside. We particularly enjoyed the eco lodge in Mai Chau - the area was beautiful and it was lovely to go for a relaxing cycle through the valley. The hotel itself was also gorgeous and we loved the focus on sustainable, ethical tourism. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Vietnam is a beautiful country and we look forward to returning one day. Thank you for planning such a great trip! We shall be recommending you to all our friends. Beth and Ollie
Great communication throughout the booking process. Dzung really understood what we were looking for and provided a well thought out itinerary with lovely hotels and the right balance of guided activities and time to ourselves.
The only negative part of the itinerary was when day trips involved stopping at 'factories' making sweets/noodles (e.g. in the Mekong Delta) - these visits felt inauthentic and we were not big fans. We also felt it was too hot and uncomfortable to take the boat between the two floating markets - we would have preferred to either just go to the first, smaller market and skip the second, or to have driven between the two. Having said that, we really enjoyed stopping for a breakfast of Pho on the river.
We really enjoyed having guides and drivers for their local expertise and knowledge. Our guides were really friendly, spoke great English and were happy to help. The street food tour in Hanoi was a great introduction to the city and to food in Vietnam in general - highly recommended. I would encourage visitors to explore more of the countryside. I wish we had spent time in the national parks (maybe skipping Hoi An and Hue) and more time exploring the north. We loved our time in Mai Chau and the beautiful eco lodge there. We we pleasantly surprised that quite a few of the hotels and places we visited were striving for better environmental and sustainable practices and would encourage anyone visiting to look into this in more detail.
So many to choose from! We loved the eco lodge in Mai Chau and cycling around the valleys. Kayaking on Halong Bay was great fun. The street food tour in Hanoi. Cycling in the countryside outside Hue. Lunch at the eco lodge near Ninh Binh - the garden there was a hidden gem! We were also pleasantly surprised by the romantic dinner on the bamboo raft in Hoi An. We had initially thought it might be a bit cheesy but it really was beautiful and romantic and so much fun arriving by Sampan!
