Below is the full feedback that I have sent to your Indian travel partner: Dear Nutan Just like to give you feed back from our lovely holiday. First off I would like to thank you for arranging it all, everything went like clock work. Trini met us at the airport and was so welcoming. All through the trip he kept in touch and made sure we were happy with everything, which we were. Then at the end of the trip he accompanied us to the airport hotel, which we didn’t feel that he needed to do, but it was very welcome. Please thank him from us both. Our driver Anu, was also lovely to be with and although it seems that every single driver in India is insane, he was no more than anyone else. He always offered to take us to more places or drop us off in towns, etc, if we wanted. He was great. So Cochin, Tissa Inn, lovely hotel, fantastic staff, only slight complaint was that although the room was great, it was overlooking the carpark, which meant we had to keep our curtains, closed the whole time. Our guide, Gerry in Cochin was great. So informative on absolutely everything. Then the Mistletoe in Munnar: This was absolutely gorgeous. The room, the food, the view and especially the owner and his family. I wrote an excellent Tripadviser report for him. I would recommend this place to everyone, just superb. Our guide in Munnar was Raj, for the tea factory and walk. He was great and the trip here was stunning. We also went to 2 places near the tea plantation that employed people with physical and mental health issues; this was so good to see and to be able to support. Shalimar Spice Garden was stunning too. Room staff, food, and the whole place was perfect. Although Nutan, you didn’t think Periyar Tiger Reserve might not involve much, I thank you for adding it for us. It was a 3-hour walk and we saw a herd of wild elephants with 2 babies, giant squirrels, Samba deer, and bison, and black monkeys. Just fantastic. I think this should be offered to all travellers in this area, it was brilliant. Kumarakon: OK this was the only hotel that let us down and we moved out into a beautiful little homestay, within 2 hours of arriving!! First off the manager was very serious faced and unwelcoming. The room was drab, faded and very scruffy. The actual site was on the most stunning area, right by the lake, but when I asked the manager if he had any sunbeds or seats that could be moved nearer to the lake, he told me that they were on order and that I could take any I could find to the lakeside. No offer to do this. He suggested the room chairs, which were great big upholstered things. I then moved 2 very heavy, uncomfortable metal chairs and covered them with cushions from the room. No beer at all and I was told that we could go back on the boat, then hire a bike and go get some for ourselves, not good! Even if we had gone out to grab a beer, there was nowhere to sit and enjoy it. We really don’t think that you should offer this place to other guests, as it lets down the standards of your company. But it was the one and only place. We ended up staying in a lovely family run place called the Mango Kerala Homes. I would highly recommend this place for you clients. The houseboat was beyond words, thank you so much for upgrading us. The boat, the 3 staff, Joe's cooking, the canoe trip, absolutely everything about this trip will stay with us forever. Thank you again. I know we were on the most recently updated boat, number 24 and it seems that others may not be quite so perfect, something to maybe make a note of. Finally onto Marari Beach Resort: Again a superb hotel. The position on the beach, the gardens, rooms, staff, food, all 5*. The perfect end to our holiday. So lucky to have been shown this one. Thank you again. The airport hotel was great too, clean, very comfortable and great food and staff. I will highly recommend TravelLocal as always, and they will then pass future travellers onto your company. A million thanks. Jacky and Dave.
Just read the above review and you will see just how pleased we were with them.
Don't recommend Cocobay Resort
All brillaint. Very knowledgeable about natural history as well as history, which I am far more interested in. Birds, plants, trees, etc.
Make sure that you don't take too many trips, allow time to sit and just look around and listen to your surrounding. As William Henry Davies wrote: Leisure: (the end lines:) No time to turn at Beauty's glance, and watch her heet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
The houseboat trip down the back waters and the canoe ride along with that at sunset. Just magical. Thank you Travellocal team.
