Spectacular Country and Wonderfully Varied Itinerary.

If you are looking for SPECTACUAR Waterfalls, Beeches, River Canyons, Ancient Ruins and fascinating Cultural experiences, as I did, then have a chat with the local partner (Carmen) and they will see to it that you will have a truly memorable time. For me it even beat Sri Lanka and Costa Rica which I didn't think possible. THANKS TO YOU ALL.

What was good about our local experts in Mexico?

Mainly the suggested itinerary, which is what I needed them for. Carmen was very good at helping sort out the issues I had. I forgive her for the occasion when I couldn't get her on the phone. To be fair, she did come back to me after about half an hour (although by then I'd sorted the issue myself)

What could our local experts in Mexico improve on?

Answer their "Emergency Telephone" number as given by themselves!! There was no answer on this number on any occasion!!! Give as much advice to travellers on using mobile phones in their countries. i.e. which service provider / SIM card for which region and the format for the number for dialing back home. Insist that there drivers / transfer operators ALWAYS HAVE A NAME BOARD.

What did you think about the guides or drivers on your trip?

The guides were ALL great. My favourite was Alonso (Sumidero Canyon Excursion). To my surprise we chatted allot about the great British, Post Punk music. The drivers were all fine except the stupid one who had no name board, and the one who didn't show for my journey home and could have caused me to miss my flight.

What advice would you give to other travellers planning a trip to Mexico?

Do it through Travel Local of course. Is this a trick question? Be prepared for the expectation of tips / service charges. You can get caught out in some restaurants were they may have included the tip and you then leave a cash tip as well. If you plan on doing an excursion that might be weather dependant go for the earliest day available, if it is cancelled you may get another chance if you are still there and the weather improves. Learn a few words in Spanish. You won't have to carry on speaking it but you will get a better response from the locals, and they will probably speak back to you in English.

What was the most memorable part of your trip?

Agua Azul waterfalls Sumidero Canyon The spooky church with all the candles and the chicken ritual.
