Costa Rica is a beautiful country with such a lot of variation as you travel around. We were lucky to visit Tortuguero, Arenal Volcano and Manuel Antonio. All wonderful to experience and very varied. Accommodation, food and tours were all very good and well organised.
Everything was well organised, knew where to be and when and guides or transport picked us up exactly as scheduled. Accommodation and tours chosen for us were all excellent. We were given emergency numbers for everyday of our trip which fortunately we never needed but were reassuring to have. Met other people who had booked with other companies who did not receive the same level of information that we were given etc
Maybe giving us more options for transportation between areas. Although not sure if there are, but drivers tended to use the no toll roads which were longer and less comfortable. We would have possibly liked to pay extra to get from A to B a little quicker by paying the tolls.
All the guides were excellent and very friendly , extremely knowledgeable and spoke good English. Some drivers spoke very little English but was not an issue.
Don't spend a lot of time in San Jose.
Seeing a sloth hanging from a thick cable going over a road in Manuel Antonio. The boat trips in Tortuguero were very special and learnt so much about Costa Rican wildlife. The hot springs in Arenal Volcano. So many memorable parts. A holiday that will take some beating
