Iceland is my new favourite place! What an amazing holiday. The landscape and views are outstanding and you really feel you are at one with the elements. We had all the weather hit us; wind, snow, rain, and sunshine and it all added to the experience. The trips we organised were all great, with good communication of any changes and timely collection. The Icelandic people are warm and charismatic, the restaurants and bars friendly with great service, and the food was excellent.
Well organised and good communication. One trip was cancelled due to poor weather, but we were called that morning and an alternative was offered, which turned out to be far more fun! Activity Iceland was there to answer all my random questions and reassure us, and we will definitely use them again.
I cant think of anything!
The guides were all great, helpful, informative and friendly. We had two private trips, both with Isak, and I can't recommend him highly enough. we thoroughly enjoyed his company, what a star. We also had a trip through rough terrain on a very snowy windy day, it was a challenge for the driver, Simon I think? He remained calm and kept us informed and made us feel at ease, it was a great adventure.
If you are going in the winter, it's cold, so wear proper clothing, made for the elements! Don't bother taking fashionable footwear, you won't wear it. Thermals are useful and don't wear jeans in the snow. Be prepared as it is expensive to buy clothing in Iceland. Book trips, its the best way to see the island and all its diversity.
Hard to pinpoint anything specific and it was all great, but the two private trips we did were very special, and we were very lucky with the Northern Lights, Isak told us it was a special display and even he was impressed!!
