A unique experience

We were fortunate enough to be able to spend 5 weeks in Costa Rica. Our tour enabled us to experience a wide range of locations, from cloud forest to tropical jungle and coastal regions. Travel between locations was smooth and well coordinated if a little exciting at times driving over some rather interesting roads/tracks. The accommodation was varied but always first class and interesting. Guides and hosts exceptional in their knowledge and helpfulness.

What was good about our local partner based in Costa Rica?

Dealing with one person was great, Sole always answered questions promptly. All transfers smooth, and accommodation varied, but all amazing in their own way. The ability to design our own tour and use local knowledge made for a very unique successful trip.

What could our local partner based in Costa Rica improve on?

We did make use of Sole giving us a whats App number which was a great safety net, just in case.

What did you think about the guides or drivers on your trip?

All our guides and drivers, exceptional knowledge and interest in making every trip the best they could. The tour guide Jorge on the white water river rafting excellent, as was the guide at Trogon lodge and Jhohnny excellent host at Finca Maraisa at Drakes Bay. Also the first tour of San Jose by Henry was a great introduction to the country.

What advice would you give to other travellers planning a trip to Costa Rica?

4 weeks is probably enough time. Its worth Experiencing as much of the country as you comfortable can as it is so diverse. If driving, get an automatic car if possible as the roads in some areas are steep and unmade. Don't drive at night and give yourselves plenty of time to get to places. We preferred the Pacific coast to th Caribbean. Drakes Bay , Corcovada and Gulfo Dulce were the high lights. We loved Arenal, but didn't be surprised if you don't see the Volcano.

What was the most memorable part of your trip?

So many, hiking in Corcovada, snorkelling off Isle de Cano, white water rafting on the Pacuare river and sunsets at Santa Teresa. to mention a few
