Borneo wildlife adventure

Absolutely brilliant. Our main goal was to see the Orangutans at the rehabilitation center and in the wild. We did this and so much more thanks to our amazing guide Zaimi. He knew his stuff and spotted all sorts of animals that I would have missed. I can't thank him enough and now consider him a friend. We were lucky as we traveled in low season so had him all to ourselves which was fantastic. He even made a hand written list of all the species we actually saw. So thoughtful. The people of Borneo are wonderfully welcoming, gracious and kind. If I had to pick out a highlight on the trip it would be one of our early morning pre-breakfast river cruises where we sat in our small boat and watched an Orangutan waking from a nest and having breakfast. Followed by seeing Proboscis, Macaques (long and short tailed) monkeys all leaping around and starting the day. Also saw lots of different colourful birds and a huge crocodile. Simply stunning and all we had hoped for. A holiday of a lifetime.
