A Fantastic holiday in every way! Communication from TravelLocal's partner in India was excellent, quick and efficient. The itinerary was designed according to our personal specification and their recommendations. When we arrived the itinerary was changed about to fit with local conditions and some additions were made following discussions with local guides. (Such is the joy of travelling as a couple.) Throughout we had excellent guides, drivers, cooks and porters. We flew from Birmingham to Amritsar direct (7hrs). Amritsar and Waggah Border were spectacular. We then flew to Delhi which limited our luggage a bit as the hold baggage allowance was less on internal flights than international flights. The train or a car might have been more interesting but Nutan pointed out that Northern Punjab could be foggy at this time of year (February). She was correct! Delhi was exciting and the guided tour was fascinating. We then took a train North to Kathgodam and Bhimtal. The excellent guide took us then by foot to the various properties of the Itmenaan Estate with staggering views basic clean local accommodation great food and lots of interest. We tagged on a visit to The Corbett National Park and the Dhol Temple complex. Then back to Delhi and on to Agra and Jaipur by car. The accommodation was very good throughout albeit rough and ready in the mountains. The Homestay in Jaipur was exceptional. The whole trip was really great value at approx £2K per head (+flights £700) for 16 days. We thoroughly recommend Travel Local, their partners, and Air India.
They were so responsive. At one stage we asked an itinerary question on a Sunday to be answered by Nutan who was driving her family on an outing.
Really excellent. Very professional and helpful. The guide in Jaipur had previously guided President Bill Clinton and the Prince of Wales! Driving in India is appalling but our drivers were exceptionally safe and pleasant throughout.
Listen to the local advice.
The whole trip was memorable. The rickshaw ride through Old Delhi was amazing and the views of Nanda Devi were stunning, the Golden Temple and Taj were unforgettable and the Waggah Border kept us amused for hours!
