Excellent logistics. Just the right balance between organisation and freedom to do our own thing. All the Guides were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Good selection of boutique hotels all in quiet locations but near centres. Exactly what we had asked for.
They did what we wanted, offering alternatives where appropriate. Kept in touch by email while we were on holiday.
A couple of things went wrong but were easily overcome. 1. We arrived in Phnom Penh at the start of the Annual 3 Day Water Festival when main sites were closed. As the date changes it does not appear in guidebooks as a major holiday but was it not known locally? In the event we enjoyed watching the dragon boats and firework displays as well as the magnificent street food stalls. 2. It was not clear from the itinerary that the tour of Ankor Wat was only a half day and would have wasted our one day passes to the Archaeological Park. Probably our fault but we woud have been happy to have been advised of this and arranged a whole day. We were able to do this locally so nothing lost.
All were polite and professional and spoke good English. The vehicles were very clean, comfortable and safely driven. We particularly enjoyed the introduction to Vietnam on the way from Ho Chi Minh City airport to our hotel, and the 2 day trip from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap on life in Cambodia. The Pandaw river cruise on the Mekong was truly memorable. An excellent way to see the countryside without the traffic.
Do some research and choose what you want to see. Don't try to visit every temple.
The people. Given what they have lived through in recent times they are so friendly, cheerful and positive. The Pandaw River Cruise. Angkor Wat for all the wrong reasons - our only day of torrential rain, fighting the umbrellas!
