A very interesting & informative trip - made especially so by our guides, Aziz (overall trip) & Mustapha (Marrakech). We got a real taste of Morocco with good accommodation with the exception of one overnight stay.
Everything I have mentioned above.
We were happy with our accommodation with the exception of Dar Amoudou - Le Petit Riad was your first choice but it was fully booked. It's location meant we really had to eat in & the quality of the food was very disappointing + while we accept that smelly drains are common in Morocco & a fact of life, they were over powering in this accommodation & thoroughly unpleasant.
We were very happy with both our guides & our driver. Aziz in particular was extremely helpful, polite & very informative - he contributed greatly to our enjoyment of Morocco.
We enjoyed all aspects of our trip - perhaps, with hindsight, I would have booked another night at Essaouira, really just to 'chill out' after all the travelling! The hotel, El Malara, at Tafraoute was exceptionally good, charming hosts & good food, especially as we were saved a 5 km trip into Tafraoute to eat out in the evening.
Just getting to know Morocco, it's countryside & people, away from the very obvious tourist attraction of Marrakech.
