There’s certainly no shortage of romantic places to visit in Greece, and where you pin to your itinerary will of course depend on your interests and budget. The sunsets of Oia on Santorini are unlike anywhere else on Earth, and in our view are best enjoyed during the low season, when you can make the most of a less crowded experience—whether you’re soaking them in from a high vantage point or a caldera cruise.
Elsewhere, another of our favorite places for romance in Greece is the paradisiacal Dodecanese island of Kastellorizo, whose overwhelming beauty is perhaps unrivaled by any other Greek island. Untouched and serene, its calming atmosphere alone will draw you in as you stroll Kastellorizo Town’s harbor lined with candy-colored houses, hunker down in a waterfront taverna, or swim in crystalline waters.
Equally unmissable is a chance to soak in the Venetian elegance of Ermoupolis on the island of Syros: the romantic feel that this stunning architectural style lends the town is captivating, and will have you feeling as though you’ve sailed into a painting. Equally entrancing are the monasteries of Meteora, where the more adventurous couples can enjoy hikes and climbs up winding steps to reach these historical structures, surrounded by an expansive green landscape.
