San Jose
Day 1: Let the Pura Vida Begin!
Once you arrive in beautiful Costa Rica, a representative will be waiting for you at the airport and will provide all the travel documents you need. A private transportation service will take you to your hotel located in the heart of the metropolitan area of San José.
San Jose - Tortuguero National Park
Day 2: Explore the Megadiverse Tortuguero National Park
Early in the morning your local English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel and then will drive you through the beautiful mountain ranges of the Braulio Carrillo National Park.
After a traditional Costa Rican breakfast you will make your way to Tortuguero by bus and boat along a 20 mile long system of waterways and rivers surrounded by lush vegetation until you reach the town of Tortuguero at around noon.
Tortuguero National Park is one of the most important protected areas in Costa Rica, offering a perfect nesting place for leatherback turtles and green sea turtles. In the afternoon you will visit the colorful town of Tortuguero. Maybe go on a leisurely hike through the jungle trails? There are great chances of spotting some howler monkeys!

Day 3: Cruise the Northern Plains to La Fortuna
Your adventure starts early in the morning: you will experience the beauty of the rainforest on a canoe tour through the canals of Tortuguero National Park. During this canoe tour you will encounter many animals than can only be seen in this tropical paradise.
After this early morning tour, you will return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards, you will travel back to the speedboat dock and you will continue by bus to Guápiles, where you will enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch.
In the afternoon, you will continue driving through the Northern Plains amidst their exotic tropical flora and multiple plantations before you get to La Fortuna, the little town located at the foot of the majestic Arenal Volcano.

Day 4: Go on a Once in a Lifetime Adventure in La Fortuna!
Today, you get to choose your itinerary. We promise it will be filled with unforgettable experiences and lots of ADVENTURE!
For this day in the Arenal Volcano area you can choose among 5 tour options. What about a waterfall rappelling tour with a visit to the Maleku Indian Cultural Rescue Center to learn about the local people? Or maybe a horseback riding tour to La Fortuna waterfall? When you get to La Fortuna Waterfall you will have the chance to go for a refreshing swim! Are you an animal buff? Perhaps a Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge by boat is what you need! If you would rather hike and enjoy the lush jungle, maybe you will opt for the Arenal Volano Hike, or a leisurely Balsa River Rafting tour?

You will spend the night in La Fortuna, and your breakfast for tomorrow will be included.

Day 5: Make your Way to the Gorgeous Cloud Forest in Monteverde
After breakfast you will continue your journey by driving around the scenic Arenal Lake and up a bumpy road until you reach the town of Santa Elena, where the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is located. The Monteverde Area is known for its unbelievable biodiversity.

Day 6: Get Close to a Quetzal at Selvatura Park
After breakfast you will visit the Selvatura Park where you will enjoy the beauty of the cloud forest while walking through a system of suspension bridges and trails set at different heights in the primary forest. This park is part of a nature reserve that is also home to the most beautiful bird of the Americas: the Quetzal.
Selvatura Park offers additional attractions like a hummingbird garden, a butterfly farm and one of the most thrilling zip line tours in the country, featuring 15 cables, 18 platforms and an optional Tarzan swing at the end of the adventure.
Monteverde Cloud Forest - San Jose
Day 7: Back to San José Through Incredible Mountain Scenery
Today your shuttle service will drive you down the mountains back to San José. On the way, you will enjoy the amazing views of the Gulf of Nicoya and the surrounding mountains. The journey back to the capital takes approximately three hours.
The afternoon is free to visit downtown. The attractions in San José include the National Theater, the Gold Museum and the Central Market.

Day 8: Hasta pronto, Costa Rica!
After having a hearty breakfast, you will head to San José International Airport for your flight back home. It is sure that you have fallen in love with the wonders of Costa Rica, so see you soon!
