Bogota
Day 1: Welcome to Bogota
After your arrival at El Dorado International Airport, your driver will transfer you to your hotel in the Zona Norte district.
Use your free time to enjoy Colombia´s capital city at your own pace. Bogota is a town where modern districts and urban architecture contrast with historic centers and green parks.

Day 2: Highlights of Bogota
Spend the day exploring Colombia´s capital, which is known for its colonial and authentic atmosphere. A half-day city tour will introduce you to the colonial Candelaria district, Bogota's historical center. Walking through cobblestoned streets, you will discover colorful colonial mansions, splendidly carved wooden balconies, and Baroque churches.
La Plaza de Mercado de Paloquemao is an authentic and lively market where you will delve into exotic flavors, smells, and colors.
Plaza de Bolivar is the city's central square and it is surrounded by buildings such as the Town Hall, the Palace of Justice, and the Primatial Cathedral.
If you want to discover the secret of Colombian gastronomy, why not attend a cooking class? There, you will learn to prepare local specialties like encocado, a coconut meal, ceviche, ajiaco (Andean soup), or passionfruit cheesecake (not included).

Day 3: Marvel at Tayrona National Park
Your driver will take you to Bogota airport for your domestic flight to Santa Marta. On arrival at Santa Marta airport, a transfer will take you to your hotel near Tayrona National Park.
Relax for the rest of the day between the jungle and the Caribbean Sea, and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Sierra Nevada. If you enoy yoga classes, the Gitana del Mar hotel offers sessions to guests who want to take an active, centering break.

Day 4: Explore the surroundings of Tayrona
In the morning, your driver will take you to the pier at the entrance of Tayrona Park. After a small coffee break on the beautiful fishermen's beach, you will embark on small lanchas (motorboats) that will take you to the most beautiful beaches of the park. Cross a wild bay where turtles like to nest - with a little luck you may be able to observe them.
Spend the day at Playa del Amor, a wild beach with turquoise waters and white sand. Rest in the shade of the trees or admire the underwater world while snorkeling. Take a walk with your guide on the trails along the bays and enjoy the spectacular view.
Your traditional lunch consists of the catch of the day, coconut rice, and plantain. After a chilled afternoon on the beach, you will return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5: The lost city of Tayronaka
Today, you will delve deeper into the Sierra Nevada. Board a little boat and go up the Don Diego river to explore the Tayronaka Reserve. There, you will visit Tayronaka, a lost city of the indigenous Tayrona people. This mystical city was the setting of the movie Mission, starring Robert De Niro. Retrace the history of this ancient civilization with your knowledgeable tour guide.
After the tour, enjoy a tubing adventure down the Don Diego river, and watch howler monkeys and spot colorful birds. On arrival at the ocean, a boat will get you back to the reserve for lunch.
Make use of your free afternoon to walk in the jungle or relax on the beautiful beaches. You can also wind down during a massage at the Gitana Del Mar hotel or do yoga on the beach.

Day 6: The queen of the Caribbean Coast
After some free time on the beaches of Tayrona National Park, you will leave for Cartagena, a jewel on the Caribbean Coast. Check into your hotel and use the day to explore the unequaled charm of this beautiful colonial city, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
On a three-hour tour, you will visit Cartagena’s restaurants that provide the best fish and seafood you can get along the Colombian coastline. Bring your appetite and explore four of the best restaurants in the old city. One of the very best ways to gain insight into the gastronomic world of Cartagena is to experience the culinary culture and learn more about typical Caribbean food.

Day 7: Highlights of Cartagena
On a half-day city tour, you will win deeper insights into the historic center and discover the most beautiful monuments of the city. You will notice the different influences - Romanesque, Moorish, Colonial, Military, Arab, Spanish, and North American - that shaped Cartagena.
Discover the Palace of the Inquisition, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city despite its cruel past, or the San Pedro Claver sanctuary, formerly dedicated to Spanish priests and missionaries.
The afternoon is dedicated to your wellbeing in one of the most famous spas of Cartagena where a one-hour massage awaits you. You'll then settle down at the Club de Pesca Restaurant, the finest seafood restaurant and a symbol of the identity of Cartagena. Founded in 1956, it is one of the traditional and most famous restaurants in the city, and offers a breathtaking view.

Day 8: Ready for island relaxation?
Today, you will be driven to the port of Cartagena for your departure tor the island of Barú in an archipelago of coral islands. The transfer to the island takes one to two hours, depending on your hotel's location.
Settle into your bungalow with a sea view and private pool and use your free time to explore the island, relax and swim in the crystalline Caribbean water.

Day 9: Sun, sand & crystal-clear waters
Enjoy a whole day of relaxation on Isla Barú. This heavenly place has a lot to offer: water activities, a scenic tour of the surrounding islands, diving, snorkeling, hiking, or just simply relaxing on the beaches.
And what better way to enjoy your time than by relaxing in a spa? Luckily, spa treatment is included in your package, so unwind and treat yourself to a pampering session.

Day 10: Time to say goodbye
Late morning, you will be transferred back to Cartagena de Indias and to your hotel in the historic center. Use your last hours in this wonderful place to stroll through this pretty former colonial town, deservedly included in the UNESCO list of Common Heritages of Mankind.
