Medellin and the Pacific Coast

Welcome to Columbia! After your arrival you will be picked up at the airport by one of our staff. On this day you are free to settle in and enjoy the city of eternal spring. Stroll through the vibrant streets of Columbia's second largest city and capital of the department of Antioquia. Spend the night at Diez hotel which includes a lovely breakfast. Let the adventure begin!

Day two begins with a guided walking tour of the Carabobo district, where you can discover the different types of architecture that fill the city. The Palacio Nacional and Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria Basilica are only a few examples of what the colorful city has to offer. In the afternoon, a ride on the metrocable will take you up to the hills of the city to enjoy Medellin from above. The day will end with an evening stroll through the most popular neighborhood, El Poblado.

The day will start with a city tour about urban transformation and urban art. By foot and by vehicle, experience the places that have transformed the city. Your exploration will begin with a visit to Comuna 13, which was once considered the center of urban violence in Medellin and has now been transfigured to an epicenter of street and graffiti art. In the afternoon you will be free to make your own plans and discover this part of Medellin at your personal pace.

Transfer to Olaya Herrera airport (Medellin national airport) to catch your domestic flight to the coastal town of Ñuqui. After your arrival, continue your travels by boat. Cross parts of the Pacific Ocean order to reach your lodge in the middle of a wild paradise - a real adventure! During your stay, you will be  invited to discover the magnificent landscapes of the Pacific Coast, between the wild jungle and the magnificence of the ocean.

Today, there is so much to choose from to start your jungle experience. If you wish, take a hike to lush wild waterfalls and a real paradise. Visit "La Cascada del amor" - the Waterfall of Love - and swim in its natural pools. On the way back to your lodge, take a dip in the Pacific Ocean or enjoy the beautiful sandy beach. Or - if you prefer to head straight into the jungle - take a hike to discover the region's diverse flora and fauna. Learn about the uses of jungle plants for the daily lives of the natives, knowledge which is passed on through generations. Reach the Rio Terco, your hiking destination, where you can swim in the waters beneath a waterfall. Spend the night in your tropical Bungalow.

Spend the day enjoying jungly heart of the Pacific Coast. Relax at the beach with a surfboard or snorkeling equipment, or join one of the exciting excursions offered by the lodge. If you wish, hike along the beach to the village of Termales, named for the thermal hot springs of the area. Drink a freshly-picked young coconut and feel lost in time as you observe the village and its people, before heading off to the hot springs for a refreshing soak. Relax with a message or an aromatic bath before heading back to your lodge for the evening.

Wake up and enjoy your last moments in paradise. Walk along the beaches with your local guide and cross the numerous small streams flowing into the ocean - a real Robinson Crusoe experience! Later, embark on your return journey by boat to Ñuqui airport and return to Medellin.
