You’ll begin in Medellin, known as the ‘City of Eternal Spring’, where you’ll take several cultural tours to get to know the city, its people and the region. Then travel north to the Caribbean coast and the wild landscapes of the Tayrona National Park. Hike in tropical forests and swim on pristine white-sand beaches. Your final stop will be the colourful town of Cartagena de Indias, with its fascinating colonial history. Packed full of character and set on the coast, Cartagena is the perfect place to enjoy the last few days of your trip. Get stuck into a local food tour and head out into the bay to cruise the beautiful Rosario Archipelago.

Medellin Airport - Medellin
Day 1: Arrival in Medellin
Arrival at Medellin and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Medellin city tour
After breakfast set off on a guided city tour of Medellin. Begin with a walking tour of the Carabobo district to discover the architecture of the city. You’ll stroll from Palacio Nacional to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria basilica, before reaching Plaza Botero, where you will discover the unique sculptures of Colombia's famous artist - Fernando Botero. In the afternoon, take a ride on the Metrocable up to the hills of the city to enjoy views of Medellin from above. Finally, you will head to the beautiful botanical gardens before visiting the Santo Domingo district.
Medellin - Guatape
Day 3: Village visit
Today set off from Medellin to Guatape set in the heart of the bucolic rural landscape. Spend the day in Guatape village, discovering its colourful streets and numerous craft shops. This village is renowned for its ‘Zócalos’ or friezes that adorn many of the buildings. In the afternoon, transfer back to your hotel in Medellin.

Day 4: Tayrona National Park
Transfer to Medellin Airport for your domestic flight to Santa Marta. From there transfer to your hotel next to the beautiful Tayrona National Park. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the landscapes of the Sierra Nevada National Park and the gorgeous beach.

Day 5: Exploring the park
Spend a full day enjoying Tayrona National Park with its lush jungle and Caribbean Sea beaches. You will alternate between hiking in the tropical forest, observing the stunning landscapes and walking on the beach. We'll arrive in Cañaveral, where we will stop for a lunch break (boxed lunch) and enjoy some swimming.
Los Naranjos - Taironaka - Cartagena
Day 6: Journey to Cartagena
After breakfast, depart for the Sierra Nevada and Tayronaka – the lost city of the Tayrona people. With your guide discover some of the secrets of this ancient place. After a short visit, we will take a tubing adventure down the Don Diego River. Look out for howler monkeys and colourful birdlife as you float downstream. Later we depart for the coastal city of Cartagena de Indias – around a 4-5 hour drive. Check-in at your hotel and relax.

Day 7: Cartagena city & food tour
After breakfast, visit the historic centre and the main sights of Cartagena on a half-day tour. Take a walk through the past and present of Cartagena, visiting the most beautiful monuments of the city. In the afternoon, go on a gastronomic adventure around the city, tasting the local flavours and eating where the locals eat. You'll be sampling tropical fruits, arepas, buñuelos, chicharrones and other tasty snacks on this street food tour.

Day 8: Island cruising
Today, enjoy a full day of relaxation as you explore the beautiful Rosario Archipelago. Set off by boat from the port on a shared excursion stopping at various islands to swim, sunbathe and enjoy a delicious lunch.

Transfer to the Cartagena de Indias Airport for your flight.
