Day 1: Arrival in Whitehorse

Welcome to the Yukon, a land of untamed wilderness and endless adventure.

When you arrive at Whitehorse Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel downtown, where you’ll stay throughout the tour. With shops, restaurants and key landmarks all within walking distance, take time to explore this vibrant northern town at your own pace.

Day 2: City tour & Northern Lights

After breakfast this morning, set out on a guided tour of Whitehorse, where your expert guide will introduce you to the city’s fascinating history and culture. Visit key landmarks such as the White Pass & Yukon Route railway station, the Log Skyscraper, the Old Log Church and the historic SS Klondike paddle steamer, a reminder of the Klondike Gold Rush era.

In the afternoon, visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, where you’ll have the chance to see some of the region’s most iconic wildlife, including moose, caribou, bison and bighorn sheep, all roaming in their natural environment.

As night falls, prepare for your first Northern Lights experience. At 9.30 PM, head to a remote viewing location where you’ll watch the aurora borealis dance across the sky from the comfort of a heated cabin or wall tent, complete with hot drinks and snacks. Return to your hotel around 2 AM.

Day 3: Snowmobiling adventure & Northern Lights

After today's breakfast, embark on an exciting snowmobiling excursion into the heart of the Yukon’s winter landscapes. After a scenic drive to Fish Lake, you'll receive a safety briefing before setting off across the frozen wilderness, gliding past towering mountains and pristine valleys. A light lunch will be served on the trail, offering a moment to soak in the breathtaking scenery before returning to Whitehorse in the afternoon.

Later that night, set out once again for your second evening of Northern Lights viewing, watching the sky come alive with shimmering colours before returning to your hotel, again around 2 AM.

Day 4: Free day & Northern Lights

Rise late, have a lazy breakfast and enjoy a day at leisure, discovering Whitehorse at your own pace. Wander through the town, browse local shops and visit one of its small museums or galleries to gain a deeper understanding of Yukon’s history and Indigenous culture. Chat with locals and experience the warm hospitality that makes this remote region so special.

At 9.30 PM, it's time to set out again for your third evening of aurora viewing, watching as the lights illuminate the vast Yukon skies. Return to your hotel around 2 AM.

Day 5: Dog sledding & last Northern Lights show

A true highlight of your Yukon adventure, today you’ll experience dog sledding, a centuries-old tradition and a beloved pastime of the north.

Fuel up at breakfast, then begin the day by meeting your enthusiastic sled dogs, followed by a briefing on the basics of mushing. Once ready, take control of your own team of four to six huskies, gliding along scenic trails through the Takhini River Valley and the Ibex Valley. Your expert guide will accompany you, ensuring a safe and unforgettable experience as you race across the snow-covered landscape.

In the evening, set out for your fourth and final night of Northern Lights viewing, a magical way to conclude your aurora experience. Return to your hotel around 2 AM.

Day 6: Snowshoe trek & ice fishing

After several days of adventure, enjoy a relaxed breakfast and a morning at leisure. Take time to unwind, exploring Whitehorse’s cosy cafés or simply soak in the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.

In the afternoon, venture into the wilderness for a guided snowshoeing excursion, trekking through snow-covered forests to a frozen lake. Once there, your guide will introduce you to ice fishing, an activity deeply rooted in northern culture. Try your luck at fishing beneath the thick ice while learning about traditional techniques still used today across Canada.

Later, head back to the hotel for your final evening in Yukon.

Every adventure must come to an end. After breakfast today, your guide will collect you at your hotel and transfer you to Whitehorse Airport in time for your onward flight, leaving you with incredible memories of your time in the wild and wonderful Yukon.
