Day 1: Touchdown in Barcelona
Arrive at the international airport in Barcelona, from where you'll transfer to your family-friendly accommodation in the city.
After some time to rest and freshen up, set out together for a stroll down La Rambla - a vibrant and popular street filled with performers, museums and markets. Continue your exploration at the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, where more snacks and an immersive sensory experience await!
Spend your evening near Plaça de Catalunya, where the kids can enjoy the open space and lively atmosphere, before returning to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 2: The architectural gems of Barcelona
Pay a morning visit to Park Güell, a space filled with colorful mosaics and whimsical architecture - it's sure to delight budding artists and history-loving parents alike.
Visit the iconic Sagrada Família in the afternoon, for a guided tour focusing on its awe-inspiring design. Then, participate in a family-friendly Gaudí mosaic workshop, where kids can have a go at creating their own art after their visit to the basilica. This activity is nothing if not fun, engaging, and a unique chance for the young ones to explore their creativity.

Day 3: A multisensory tour of Barcelona
Start your day in Barcelona with a family walking tour of the Gothic Quarter, visiting hidden alleys, quirky shops, and historical spots. Tour the Cathedral of Barcelona, where kids can look out for (and try counting) the 13 white geese that reside in the cloister.
Optionally, visit the Barcelona Chocolate Museum (known locally as the Museu de la Xocolata), where children can immersive themselves in the fun and interactive exhibits. Then, it's on to lunch at a family-friendly restaurant in the stunning district of El Born.
In the late afternoon, you've the option of spending time atop Mount Tibidabo, to enjoy an amusement park experience with stunning views of the city. Finally, after a day of fantastic pursuits, return to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Barcelona - Montserrat - Barcelona
Day 4: A day of exploring in Montserrat
From Barcelona, embark on a guided day trip to Montserrat! Start by taking a scenic morning train, a journey time of just over an hour. On arrival, begin by riding the cable car for incredible views and plenty of photo opportunities.
Back on solid ground, take time to explore the Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey and visit the Black Madonna. Enjoy a family hike on one of the easier trails, taking in the beautiful scenery and wildlife all around you. Finall, it's time to return to Barcelona, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant on your way back.

Barcelona - Madrid
Day 5: Journey to Madrid
Leaving Barcelona behind, today you'll board a morning train to Madrid, the delightful capital located about three hours away. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and take a moment to unwind after your travels.
Spend a relaxed afternoon amidst the greenery of El Retiro Park, perhaps renting rowboats or exploring the children's play area. You could opt to enjoy an interactive family treasure hunt around Puerta del Sol, keeping the kids entertained while learning about Madrid's landmarks.

Day 6: See the icons of Madrid
After breakfast, set out on a morning guided family tour of the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), with a focus on Spain's royal history and kid-friendly highlights. Next up, visit the Plaza Mayor and dig into churros with chocolate at a famous cafe - a well-deserved snack as you take a short break from sightseeing.

Spend a morning surrounded by Spanish art, as you pay a visit to the Prado Museum. There, a child-friendly guide will introduce you to all of the highlights - including the works of Goya and Velázquez.
Afterwards, join a short art workshop where kids can try their hand at sketching or painting based on the Prado’s masterpieces. Optionally, spend the afternoon at the Parque de Atracciones de Madrid, where together, the young and young at heart can enjoy a variety of rides and activities.

Madrid - Toledo - Madrid
Day 8: Experience the wonders of Toledo
Take a short, 30-minute train ride to Toledo this morning, for a day trip filled with new discoveries.
Explore the Toledo Cathedral and Alcázar, filling your itinerary with historical tales and legends. Stop for lunch in a local restaurant, where you'll sample traditional Castilian cuisine, then visit a sword-making workshop: there, you'll watch artisans craft swords, as well as learn about Toledo’s famous and fascinating steel.
Return to Madrid in the evening, for a relaxed dinner and a final leisurely stroll around the capital.

Day 9: Goodbye, Spain
