Ljubljana
Day 1: Arrival & gourmet walking tour
Once you've arrived at the airport in Ljubljana, pick up your rental car: the drive to your hotel is just 30 minutes.
Check in and relax before taking a private afternoon gourmet walking tour of Ljubljana Old Town. Slovenia is a culinary melting pot with influences from many of its neighbouring countries. Your guide will introduce you to the main highlights of the city but at the same time take you to venues where traditional Slovenian food can be sampled. You'll taste food from different regions of the country to gain an overall experience of Slovenia’s culinary scene.
Later, head back to your hotel for a free evening.

Ljubljana
Day 2: Tour the city
After breakfast, meet your guide for a private guided walking tour of Ljubljana. Enjoy the capital’s lively cosmopolitan vibe and meet its warm and welcoming people.
Ljubljana has it all – the historic centre offers one-of-a-kind architectural gems with a unique combination of Baroque and Art Nouveau styles, including masterful creations by the 20th-century architect Jože Plečnik. Find out how the Triple Bridge got its name, where the locals shop and much more besides. Your local guide will be full of stories and insights, so ask away.
After the tour, the rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure.

Ljubljana - Bled
Day 3: Journey to Lake Bled & river rafting
Drive from Ljubljana after breakfast and head to Lake Bled, a scenic journey of just under an hour.
Check in at your new hotel and meet your driver for an exciting excursion. Here, you'll enjoy a full-day rafting trip, experiencing an adrenaline rush while immersed in the picturesque setting of the Soča River. You'll learn all about the sport of rafting with experienced guides, on an adventure that's suitable for the entire family.
In the evening, return to your hotel and relax.

Bled - Triglav National Park - Bled
Day 4: White peaks & emerald forests
After breakfast today, you'll head off to the heart of the countryside, checking into your new hotel and meeting your driver for a comfortable private transfer to explore Triglav National Park.
Here, you'll see magnificent natural scenery, including majestic mountains with white peaks, emerald forests, and pristine lakes and rivers. You'll also learn about the history and traditions of the region and take a gondola to the top of Mt Vogel for incredible views of the glorious landscape.
After a day of drinking in breathtaking scenery, head back to the hotel for a serene evening.

Bled - Predjama - Postojna
Day 5: Karst caves & medieval castles
After this morning's breakfast, you'll be picked up from your hotel for a day trip to Postojna Cave and the stunning Predjama Castle.
Explore the mysterious Postojna Cave as you ride the underground train through one of the largest karst cave systems in the world.
Afterwards, it's time to visit the Medieval Predjama Castle, built in the mouth of a huge cave. The castle has a long history, full of legends and intriguing stories, which you’ll learn all about with the included audio guide.
After today's tour, you'll be dropped off at your hotel for another evening at your leisure.

Bled
Day 6: Good food & traditional music
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning, as the day is left free for you to enjoy the delights of Lake Bled, perhaps hiking or taking a boat trip.
Later, enjoy a traditional Slovenian evening of entertainment with good food, live music and dancing. You'll get to feast on the delicacies of Slovenian cuisine while learning about cultural heritage and experiencing authentic music and dance. Learn to dance the polka and the waltz, and try out traditional games like the pillow dance and hat dance, finding out about the stories behind the traditions.

Bled - Piran
Day 7: Road trip to the coast
Hit the road after breakfast today for a journey through spectacular mountains the Alpine ski centre of Kranjska Gora. Continue to the pretty provincial capital of Udine, where you might like to stop and explore. Stroll through the city's compact centre and admire the Venetian architecture, then do like the locals do and stop in one of the bustling cafes lining the arcaded Piazza Matteotti.
From there it's another hour's drive to the Italian town of Trieste. Explore on foot and visit the wonderful Miramare Castle with your skip-the-line tickets.
The rest of the evening is yours to spend as you please.

Piran
Day 8: Day trip into the mountains
After breakfast today, enjoy a private full-day tour of Kamnik and Velika Planina.
From Piran, it's a scenic, not to mention fascinating, 2.5-hour journey to the foot of the Velika Planina Mountain and from there we take the funicular up to the town. Velika Planina offers spectacular aerial views of Kamnik and its surroundings. Visiting this mountain plateau with its green pastures and typical shepherds' huts is like stepping back in time, and there are several small museums to visit.
The afternoon will be spent in atmospheric Kamnik, exploring its medieval town centre.

Piran
Day 9: Slovenian wine discovery
Fuel up at breakfast this morning and get ready to explore Istria. The largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea, it is located between the Gulf of Trieste and Kvarner, and divided between three countries: Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. The Mediterranean climate here contributes to the production of some very good wines and olive oils.
Today, you’ll take a day trip to explore Slovenian Istria, visiting one of the best Slovenian wineries and tasting some local vintages. We then continue inland, where we will have the opportunity to taste more wines and some delicious olive oils. After a full day of tastings and exploring, your driver will drop you off at your hotel for one last evening in Slovenia.

Piran
Day 10: Homeward bound
After breakfast today you'll make the return journey by road to the airport. It's about a 1.5 hour trip, so leave in good time to drop off your rental car and check in for your flight home.
