Day 1: Introduction to Mexico City
Welcome to Mexico City, a vibrant capital where history, culture and modern energy intertwine. On arrival at your hotel, take some time to settle in before embarking on a guided city tour to explore the highlights of this fascinating metropolis.
Begin in the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and visit the Zócalo, one of the world’s largest public squares. Admire the Metropolitan Cathedral, a masterpiece of colonial architecture and see the National Palace, home to Diego Rivera’s famous murals. Stroll through the bustling streets, where colonial-era buildings and lively markets capture the essence of this dynamic city.
After your introduction to Mexico City, the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure, perhaps sampling authentic Mexican cuisine or simply unwinding in preparation for the adventures ahead.

Mexico City - Museum Of Anthropology - Mexico City
Day 2: Explore the capital's many faces
After breakfast this morning, embark on a guided visit to Mexico’s National Museum of Anthropology, one of the world’s most significant museums dedicated to pre-Hispanic cultures. Explore its vast collection of artefacts, including the Aztec Sun Stone, the impressive Mayan tomb of King Pakal, and intricate Olmec sculptures.
In the afternoon, take a stroll through Chapultepec Park, a sprawling green oasis in the heart of the city. One of the largest city parks in the world, it offers peaceful gardens, lakes and historical landmarks, including Chapultepec Castle, a former imperial palace with breathtaking views over the city.
Spend the evening at leisure or head out to experience the high-energy atmosphere of Lucha Libre, Mexico’s famous wrestling spectacle and an unforgettable way to immerse yourself in Mexican culture (this activity must be booked separately).

Mexico City - Coyoacan - Mexico City
Day 3: Vibrant districts & world-class art
Enjoy breakfast, then explore the charming district of Coyoacán, one of the city's most atmospheric neighbourhoods, filled with cobbled streets, colonial architecture and lively plazas.
Begin with a visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as the Casa Azul. Continue to the House of Leon Trotsky, where the Russian revolutionary spent his final years in exile. Next, visit the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum, home to extensive collections of pre-Hispanic artefacts and murals.
Enjoy lunch aboard a traditional trajinera (decorated boat) cruising on Xochimilco lake. Experience the vibrant Mexican culture with entertainment from a mariachi band.
In the evening, head out to experience more of the variety of Mexican culture at a performance by the folklore ballet (this visit must be booked separately), soaking up the city's atmosphere... or simply relax back at the hotel.

Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Querétaro
Day 4: From pyramids to stately homes
This morning, collect your rental car and set off on an exciting journey beyond the capital.
Your first stop is Teotihuacán, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Mesoamerica. Walk along the Avenue of the Dead, flanked by ancient structures and climb the imposing Pyramid of the Sun, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Continue to the Pyramid of the Moon, the second-largest structure at the site and admire the intricate Temple of the Feathered Serpent (Quetzalcóatl). Explore the complex’s murals and stone carvings, which offer a glimpse into this ancient civilisation’s artistry and beliefs.
In the afternoon, continue your journey north, arriving in Querétaro, a UNESCO-listed colonial city with a rich history. Take a walking tour of the city and admire the many stately homes, fountains, churches and convents that make it such a remarkable place.

Querétaro - San Miguel De Allende
Day 5: Inspiring art & architecture
After breakfast, it's time to head for San Miguel de Allende. Celebrated for its artistic spirit and stunning architecture, at the heart of the city lies the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel. This striking neo-Gothic church features towering pink spires, which dominate the skyline. Wander through the Plaza de Allende and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the thriving arts scene and the many festivals that take place here throughout the year.
For a deeper exploration of the art scene here, the Instituto Allende offers insight into the city's creative legacy, with workshops and exhibitions showcasing local talent.
As the sun sets, enjoy an evening at leisure, perhaps dining at one of the town’s excellent restaurants before settling in to your hotel for the night.

San Miguel De Allende - Dolores Hidalgo - Guanajuato
Day 6: Spirit of freedom
Leave San Miguel de Allende after breakfast and head for for Guanajato, stopping off in Dolores Hidalgo, a place of immense significance in Mexico’s independence movement.
Father Miguel Hidalgo gave his famous 'Grito de Dolores' here in 1810, sparking the country’s fight for freedom. Your trip also includes a visit to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the Sistine Chapel of Mexico because of its elaborate frescoes covering the walls and ceilings.
In the afternoon, arrive in the colourful city of Guanajuato, where your first stop is the El Pípila monument, which offers panoramic views over the city, before moving on to La Presa de la Olla. This peaceful dam is surrounded by green landscapes and is a lovely spot for a relaxing walk and to enjoy some light refreshments.
Spend a relaxed evening exploring the streets of Guanjuato at your own pace.

Guanajuato
Day 7: Discover historical gems
After breakfast, today is yours to discover more of Guanajuato: the UNESCO-listed gem is filled with winding alleyways, colonial plazas and rich cultural heritage.
For those drawn to history and intrigue, visit the Ex-Hacienda del Cochero. This former estate was once used as an inquisition prison and now serves as an eerie but fascinating museum exploring this chilling side to Mexico's past.
The striking San Cayetano Church (Templo de San Cayetano de la Valenciana) combines artchitecture and culture, as one of Guanajuato’s most impressive baroque churches.
Meanwhile for art lovers, the Diego Rivera House Museum provides a fascinating insight into the early life and works of the renowned muralist.
Before the day ends, take a stroll down Callejón del Beso (Alley of the Kiss), legendary scene of a tragic love story and Guanajuato’s most famous romantic site.

Guanajuato - Morelia
Day 8: A day of cathedrals & craftsmanship
This morning, depart Guanajuato and journey towards Morelia, a city renowned for its elegant colonial architecture and rich cultural heritage, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Begin your exploration at the cathedral, an architectural masterpiece that dominates the city skyline with its intricate baroque design and towering spires. Nearby, visit the Regional Museum of Michoacán, housed in a former monastery, where exhibits pay tribute to the region’s indigenous artists. Continue to the Casa de las Artesanías, a cultural centre dedicated to preserving and promoting local craftsmanship. As you explore Morelia, you may also pass the San Nicolás University, a historic institution that has played a key role in Mexico’s intellectual and political history.
Spend the evening immersed in the city's culture before returning to your hotel for the final night.
