Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to the Azores!
Today you'll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
Salto Do Cabrito
Day 2: Hiking the Salto do Cabrito or Serra Devassa
Today you have the choice of two different hikes. The first is a circular walk that starts at the Caldeiras of Ribeira Grande. It is about 4km long and a relatively easy walking route although it has some steep slopes. On this trail, your guide will discuss the subject of water resources on Sao Miguel island as the trail crosses near the Faja Redonda Hydro Power Plant.
The second option is a circular trail around the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades. This hike is more challenging, but the landscapes are incredible with hidden lakes, aqueducts and water springs. It leads up to the highest point of Sete Cidades - Pico das Éguas.
Lagoa Do Fogo
Day 3: Hiking Lagoa do Fogo
Today our hike to Lagoa do Fogo runs through a great variety of native and endemic vegetation, and offers lovely views of the lake. The first stop is at Miradouro do Pisão, an amazing viewpoint that looks out across the natural pools and convent of Caloura. We then head to the start of our hiking trail near Agua d'Alto beach. The walk is around 11km long and is quite challenging in parts, but the effort is worth it! At the end of the day, we stop at Agua d'Alto beach for a refreshing swim in the ocean.
Faial Da Terra
Day 4: Hiking Faial da Terra & Explore the Northeast
Today we enjoy one of the most beautiful hikes on Sao Miguel Island along with a comfortable van tour to the northeast of the island. We will start our circular trail by visiting a mountain village called Sanguinho. During the hike we can take a dip in the amazing waterfall Salto do Prego. After this wonderful hike, we will stop in the centre of Faial da Terra village to relax at the old whalers harbour. Later, we will enjoy a relaxing scenic drive stopping to admire various viewpoints along the northeast coastline.
Furnas
Day 5: Caldeiras das Fumas Geothermal Area
This morning we will visit the local tea factory Gorreana before reaching a spectacular viewpoint over Furnas: Pico do Ferro. Cameras at the ready, as this is one incredible vista! From there we will head to the volcanic geothermal area of Caldeiras das Fumas to see the famous fumaroles and taste mineral waters from the different springs.
Moinho Do Félix
Day 6: Hiking Moínho do Félix
Today we enjoy a lovely circular walk of 5.5 km. The hike starts near the church of São Pedro with a path leading down towards the ocean. We will stop at the viewpoint of Miradouro da Rocha and then reach the waterfall of Homem. The path then leads us to an ancient watermill ruin and to the beautiful Teofilo's waterfall, Gruta's waterfall and the Trout's well. After this amazing day, we will head back to Ponta Delgada.

Day 7: Transfer to Airport
It's time to say farewell to the Azores. Check out from your hotel and make your way to the airport to head home. We hope to see you back here another day!
