Day 1: Welcome to Colombia

Start off your Colombia experience with a guided walking tour of Medellin.

Visit the Palacio Nacional and other places of interest before enjoying lunch at Mercado del Rio, a modern food market. There, you'll get to enjoy a variety of local and international foods.

Return to your hotel to relax and unwind after a day out discovering the best that Medellin has to offer.

Day 3: Tour of Comuna 13 or Guatape

Today you can choose between two day excursions to suit your mood.

Option 1: half-day tour of Comuna 13

Explore this once-struggling neighborhood turned artistic hub that is famous for its colorful murals and vibrant street art.

Option 2: full-day trip to Guatape

Take a guided trip to this beautiful town known for its colorful buildings and the massive Piedra del Peñol rock. Hike up the rock's 740 steps for stunning views of the surrounding lakes.

Return to your hotel in Medellin after the tour for a good night's rest.

The tranquility of Nuqui

Day 4: The tranquility of Nuqui

In the morning, prepare for a domestic flight to Nuqui on the Pacific coast (approx. 1.5 hours). Settle into your accommodation, most of which are nestled in nature with access to the beach.

For the rest of the day, enjoy the tranquil, pristine beaches of Nuqui. Relax and watch the stunning Pacific sunset from the sandy shore before letting the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.

Day 5: Wildlife & hot springs

If you are traveling between July and October, whale watching is a must. Go on a boat tour to see humpback whales migrating to the Pacific coast of Colombia. 

Alternatively, you can watch baby turtles on the beach during turtle hatching season from November to January.

If you are looking to unwind, visit the Termales de Nuqui to relax in the natural hot springs whose hot water flows directly into the Pacific Ocean.

In the evening, head to dinner at a local seafood restaurant and savor fresh fish or seafood dishes that are native to the region.

Day 6: Wildlife in the mangroves & Afro-Colombian culture

Start the day with a boat ride through the lush mangrove forests. Keep an eye out for the exotic birds and wildlife that have made these mangroves their home.

After lunch, embark on an excursion to La Barra where you’ll learn more about the traditions and culture of the Afro-Colombian communities that make up 90% of the population on the Pacific coast. 

Return to Nuqui after this eventful day full of wildlife and cultural experiences.

Day 7: Adiós, Colombia

As your trip to Colombia has come to an end, you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic return flight to Medellin in the late morning or early afternoon.

Finally, depart Medellin for your flight home, filled with memories of your time in the city and on the Pacific coast. Safe travels!
