Indulge your taste buds in this tour of Portugal's incredible food and wine, starting in vibrant Lisbon with a visit to the famous Mercado do Livramento in Setúbal, followed by a wine tasting tour in the charming city of Évora. Next you'll explore Portugal's rural countryside with visits to a historic olive grove, a cork farm, and the humble Schist Mountain Villages, plus take a cooking class amongst the ruins of Marialva and drive out to the gorgeous vineyards of the Douro River Valley. End your trip in Porto where you'll watch the fishermen barter their daily catch and tour a sardine cannery.

Arrival in Lisbon - Lisbon Downtown - Fado Restaurant
Day 1: Lisbon
Arrival in Lisbon
Car Transfer: Travel from Lisbon International Airport to your accommodation unit (ca. 10 km).
In the afternoon half-day guided walking tour crossing the downtown of Lisbon. Visit Baixa the old downtown district of the city tasting the famous Pastel de Nata along the way, explore Rossio with Figueira and Comércio Squares and enjoy Chiado the glamorous part of the city with its iconic cafés and shops. You will have the opportunity to take a ride on the vintage tram to Alfama.
The Fado Experience
Excursion: Dinner included enjoying a Fado live performance, at an intimate and cozy environment.
Enjoy a lovely meal while watching a live performance of Portugal's Fado music at one of the most traditional restaurants in Lisbon.
Fado is a music genre that is unique to Portugal and can be traced back to the 1820s, but probably has much earlier origins. This mournful song is the most traditional Portuguese music genre and has been a UNESCO’s World Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2011.
You will have a table reserved for you in a shared environment.

Arrábida Natural Park - Setúbal - Lisbon
Day 2: Setubal - Lisbon
Arrábida Natural Park
Excursion: The day will begin with the pick-up in Lisbon towards Arrábida Natural Park (ca. 45 km).
For the first morning activity you’re invited for a boat tour along the beautiful coast line of Arrábida Natural Park in an attempt to spot a resident dolphin's colony (not guaranteed) and a little stop for a swim (if weather allows).
Then, it's time to move to Setúbal and play a visit to one of the most worldwide famous fish markets: Mercado do Livramento. This prized market was built in 1930 and has a truly unique wall decoration covered by 5700 tiles which depict scenes from everyday life such as fishing or farming. Light walking in Setúbal downtown followed by a lunch in a local Portuguese restaurant.
After lunch short travel to Azeitão (ca. 15 km). Visit and tasting of Moscatel wine at JMF - José Maria da Fonseca Wine Cellars.
At the end of these experiences it’s time to return to Lisbon.

Winery In Estremoz - Evora
Day 3: Évora
Travel to the Alentejo countryside
Excursion: Travel to the Alentejo countryside region, more precisely to Estremoz (ca. 160 km).
To make this trip even more interesting, there will be plans for you to visit a very special Wine Estate & Producer of the Alentejo Wines, one of the most known types of Portuguese table wines.
This winery has placed Estremoz on the route of great wines, welcoming travelers from all over the world. A walk or lunch with friends, clients or employees is an excellent pretext and offers the ideal time and tranquility to enjoy its wines and local cuisine here. With a shop, tasting room, meeting room and dining room, this winery opens its doors for you to discover, taste and take home wines that are the perfect memory of this land.
There will be a local host for a guided Tour & Wine Tasting of course. You will have the chance to visit the vineyards, winery, the working bottling line and cellars.

Travel to your next destination: the historical town of Évora
Excursion: Travel to your next destination: the historical town of Évora (ca. 45 km).
When in Évora you will have some time to explore this magnificent UNESCO Heritage site and its Roman Empire Legacy.
Inside the medieval walls, stroll in the narrow streets of its historic centre crossing the old city and stopping at the most iconic sights in town: the Bones Chapel, São Francisco Church, the Cathedral, the Roman Temple and the University.
This region has remains of human occupation since the prehistoric ages, and with significant strategical importance during the Moorish ocupation and the Portuguese Kingdom period.

Cork Estate - ÉVora
Day 4: Évora
Visit an olive grove
Excursion: Travel from your accommodation unit to a small parish about 25 km from the center of Évora to visit an olive grove.
It’s time to introduce you the Portuguese olive oil which is amongst the best of the world. The day will begin with a private guided visit to an organic olive grove with almost 70-year-old planted by the grandfather of a small local producer. Discover the history of the estate (that has been in the family for 3 generations), learn about the Galega olive tree (native to Portugal) and find out what should be done to produce a small quantity of high-quality olive oil. You will also have the opportunity to taste the extra virgin Galega olive oil savouring its qualities in the shade of an ancient tree. Finally you will end this amazing sensory experience with a typical lunch at the estate tasting some of Alentejo’s traditional products.
How does it end? Here you will visit a factory dedicated to the cork production where you can follow the industrial process and some goods made with this exclusive and natural product.

Travel to your next destination: Redondo
Excursion: Travel to your next destination: Redondo (ca. 30 km - 0h30).
This afternoon will be dedicated to the cork production. Cork is one of the most characteristic natural products of Portugal, a fascinating and eco-friendly raw material that nature can give us. It is a 100% natural, reusable and recyclable material, extracted from cork oaks without harming the regular development of the species and the tree itself. The tree continues to live and grow and producing new cork, after having been harvested.
Let's know how it all starts? A guided visit to a “montado” (cork forests) at an estate property devoted to cork forestry and livestock, where the owner will explain the first stage of the cork extraction process. After all you're where everything begins.
How does it end? Here you will visit a factory dedicated to the cork production where you can follow the industrial process and some goods made with this exclusive and natural product.

Lousã Mountain - Talasnal - Schist Villages
Day 5: Lousã
Travel from Évora heading the Centre Region of Portugal
Excursion: Travel from Évora heading the Centre Region of Portugal, more precisely to Lousã (ca. 250 km).
Lunch included at a typical Portuguese restaurant.
Meet & greet your guide and set off for an afternoon of hiking along the green mountains of Serra da Lousã, following a path of both natural and historical importance: travelling back in time, you walk along the mountainous routes of the ancient villagers, crossing a Castle and a Chapel before you make way through two of the Official Mountain Schist Villages.

Historical Villages - Marialva - Casas Do Côro
Day 6: Marialva
Travel from Lousã to your next destination: Marialva
Excursion: Travel from Lousã to your next destination: one of the 12 Historical Villages of Portugal - Marialva (ca. 170 km).
In Marialva you will know Casas do Côro, a sustainable wine tourism project that came from the recovery of 12 ruined houses in the historic village of Marialva. Once here you will have the possibility to participate in a culinary workshop for about 2 hours at mid-morning with Carmen (one of the owners) sharing her wisdom and then lunch all that was made.

Free afternoon to enjoy Casas do Côro facilities such as the swimming pool and the eco firendly concept Spa or to disvover more about the village of Marialva.

Day 7: Pinhão

Excursion: Travel from Marialva to Pinhão in the heart of Douro Valley Wine Region (ca. 165 km).
Guided tour & tasting at one of the most exquisite Wine Estates & Producers of Port and Douro Wines.
Picnic-style (gourmet) lunch overlooking the vineyards and contemplating the river.
From the quay in Pinhão, 2-hour boat trip on Douro River in a 'rabelo' (typical wooden boat used to carry Port Wine to the warehouses in Porto/Gaia).

Day 8: Porto
From Pinhão to Porto
Car Transfer: Travel from Pinhão to your next destination: Porto (ca. 160 km).
In Porto your guide and host will go with you for a half-day walking tour exploring the UNESCO Heritage historical centre of the city, presenting the history and main attractions from the Cathedral down to the unique Douro riverbanks. Porto is an inviting city of contrasts, with countless museums and ancient churches and it is no wonder that it has won more than once the title of Best European Destination. You will visit as well 3 local small restaurants and try some of our local delicacies!

After such an enriching tour through Porto's historic centre go for one of the most iconic and "must do" experiences in town: guided tour & tasting at an exquisite Port Wine Cellar at the riverbanks, a real legacy of the history of all this region.
Late in the afternoon we invite you to release your inner chef in our deliciously fun, technique based, hands-on cooking class! Enjoy yourself in the kitchen with a professional Chef, teaching and working with you preparing a full meal! We can promise of course a lot of "mess", having some glasses of wine and enjoy the entire process.

Fish Experience - Matosinhos - Porto
Day 9: Porto
Experience the Culture of Portuguese Fishing
Excursion: For this morning you will go on an "out of the circuits" experience in which you will learn and taste something that is deeply connected with Portugal’s history and legacy: the Sea and therefore the Fish!
You will have the chance to interact with several stages of the fish production.
