Day 1: Welcome to Peru!

Welcome to Lima!

At Lima International Airport, you will be greeted by one of our drivers, who will be holding a sign reading your name. He will drive you to your hotel in Lima.

Depending on your arrival time, you can head out and start exploring the city on your own, before your city tour tomorrow.

Day 2: Discover Exciting Lima On a City Tour

Lima, the largest city and capital of Peru is a must do while visiting the country.

In recent years, it's become a modern city with beautiful beaches and many seafood restaurants, museums and an exciting nightlife.

Start your day with a panoramic tour of the "Huaca Pucllana" which was an administrative center that was composed of a set of pyramids, plazas, courtyards and accesses on ramps.

Then your guide will provide an explanation of each place before admiring Plaza Grau, Palace of Justice and Plaza de San Martin.

After visiting some museums, walk to the Plaza de Armas or Plaza Mayor in Lima, and see the Cathedral, the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace.

Finally visit the Monastery of San Francisco and its interesting catacombs.

Transfer Out Lima - Puerto Maldonado - Amazon Planet

Day 3: Fly to the Amazon

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and bring you to the airport in time for your flight to Puerto Maldonado.

Depart for your Amazon lodge on a 1-hour boat ride down the Madre de Dios River through the heart of the jungle surrounded by flora, fauna and breathtaking scenery before arriving at your private bungalow. 

Rest for a bit before meeting your guide for a walk around the lodge and inside the rainforest past giant kapok trees, walking by palms and tropical plants while being captivated by the sounds of nature within the forest.

Before dinner, you may take a walk with your guide and group while experiencing the jungle as it is transformed from day into night, or a boat ride under the stars and moon along the river bank in search of alligators and capybaras.

Day 4: Delve into the Amazing Amazon Jungle

After a scrumptious breakfast, set out into the jungle to walk amongst the giants of the forest, 300-year-old trees towering above the jungle as you make your way to the first of two platforms.

The avatar platform is located 25 meters up in an ancient fig tree set above a mammal colpa that is a food source for many different types of animals all year round.

Cross the suspension bridge to the platform and continue down and along the winding trails deeper into the jungle as you try to spot amazing species.

Continue down the trails until arriving at the Taricaya Rescue Center before heading back to the lodge for your afternoon activities.

Then, walk in the agroforestal farm, and visit the butterfly house and the mahogany workshop. In the evening you can go on a caiman search or night walk.

Day 5: Visit a Native Ese-Eja Tribe

Begin your 3rd day with breakfast before traveling upriver on a short boat ride to visit the native family of the Ese-Eja tribe.

Be fascinated by the lively stories of their ancestors. Take part in the making your own bow and arrow that you can bring home as a reminder of your visit.

Finally, you can have a one on one talk with them as the women of the family display their handcrafts and native jewelry, an important economic activity women maintain until now.

Return to the lodge for lunch and spend some relaxing time in the hammocks.

Enjoy a once in a life time opportunity to float down the Madre de Dios river in your own inflatable boat with the opportunity to see turtles, monkeys, herons and other birds that live along the river edges with a stunning sunset setting over the river.

Take a dip in the warm waters alongside your boat then spend a leisurely evening with your new friends!

Day 6: Transfer to Magical Cusco

Have breakfast and check out before you take the boat returning to Puerto Maldonado.

Arrive to the office where your car service will be waiting to take guests with early flights to the airport. Guests leaving on later flights can arrange tours and lunch with our city staff in the office.

Transfer to Cusco where upon aarrival you will be greeted by one of our drivers who will be holding a sign with your name to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 7: Explore Magnificent Cusco

Today you will explore the impressive city of Cusco.

The Imperial city of the Inkas was a complex urban center with different religious and administrative functions.

In Cusco´s historic center you will see Spanish buildings, native ruins, temples and finely finished buildings of the Inkas.

The main attractions are the Temple of the Sun, the main square Plaza de Armas, the market of San Pedro and the Papa Museum.

Let your mind drift and feel the energy of the past in this magical city!

Then, continue to the nearby ruins: Kenko, where you will see its underground galleries and its semicircular amphitheater.

Next, go to the Tambomachay complex of walls connected by stairways, and Puca Pucara, the red fortress located on a hill.

Sacred Valley Grouptour

Day 8: Discover the Stunning Sacred Valley

Discover the Sacred Valley with its amazing nature, breathtaking views, ancient ruins and various adventure activities.

The valley was chosen by the Inkas because of its geographical and climatic conditions. Here you'll have the chance to visit the beautiful Pisac Market where you will find a wide variety of locally produced handicrafts.

Later on, visit the small town of Ollantaytambo. Enjoy a great coffee or delicious meal in one of the local cafes and restaurants. Here you'll find here some of the finest stonework of Peru.

At the end of this trip you will stay in the Sacred Valley for the night.

Machu Picchu

Day 9: Admire Machu Picchu

The Machu Picchu Train Experience is a unique way to travel to Machu Picchu as you explore the Andean landscape like never before with wider and taller panoramic windows and an observation outdoor carriage including a bar.

Surrounded by dramatic landscape between the Peruvian Andes and the Amazon Basin, Machu Picchu is perhaps the greatest wonder of ancient architecture in the world. It symbolizes the Inka culture with all its historical, cultural and natural values.

The nearly 200 structures may have been a royal estate or a religious site. Machu Picchu is divided into a lower and upper part to separate farming from residential areas. 

At the scheduled time, transport will take you to Ollantaytambo train station. From there you'll take the train to Aguas Calientes town and then the bus to Machu Picchu for your 2h tour.

Transfer Out Cusco - Juliaca - Puno

Day 10: Travel to Puno, Your Gateway to Lake Titicaca

Transfer back to Cusco.

One of our drivers will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport in time for your flight to Juliaca.

As soon as you arrive in Juliaca, transfer to Puno, your gateway to Lake Titicaca!

Uros - Taquile

Day 11: Explore Taquile Island and Floating Islands of Uros

It's time to explore Lake Titicaca! 

Head to Taquile Island, home to a Quechua population that are mostly farmers, fishermen and experts in weaving.

On Taquile you can enjoy a cultural demonstration where they show you the high quality of their artistic work with textiles. For many families selling textiles and products this is an important income.

Start from the port of Puno.  Next, arrive on the floating islands of Uros. Here you'll participate in a cultural demonstration that will allow you to learn more about the life on Uros and the culture.

Afterwards, board the boat again and drive to Taquile. 

Transfer Out - Lima

Day 12: Transfer Back to Juliaca

Transfer from Puno to Juliaca for your onward travels.
