Day 1: Your journey in Nepal starts

Welcome to Kathmandu! Pretty much as soon as you touch down in this magical land at the top of the world, you'll be eagerly greeted, and then transferred to your cozy hotel in the city center. Take a good rest because a profound journey awaits you!

Visit the ancient Patan

Day 2: Visit the ancient Patan

Your first day of spiritual journey starts from Patan, which is one of the oldest royal cities in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal and was originally designed in the shape of the Buddhist 'Wheel of the Law' (dharmachakra). There are more than 1,000 Buddhist monuments scattered throughout the city till date.

You will be guided to the Hiranya Varna Mahavihar,Golden window, Golden temple and Mahaboudha temple. You will also have the chance to visit two very sacred meditation caves of mahasiddhas Naropa and Tilopa.

Your spiritual tour for today ends at Boudhanath. Boudhnath is the largest stupa not only in the valley but also in the world. It´s located in about 6 km east of downtown Kathmandu and it looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design with hundreds of prayer wheels and 108 small images of Buddha all around.

Day 3: Visit the birthplace of Buddha - Lumbini

Rise and shine! Your day starts early in the morning with trip to Lumbini where you will arrive in the evening. The scenic and mountainous road from Kathmandu to Lumbini is filled with breathtaking views and will surely bring you lot of excitement.

The Lord Buddha was born in 623 BC in the sacred area of Lumbini, which is one of the holiest places of one of the world's great religious sites. The complex of structures within the conservation area includes the Shakya Tank, the remains within the Maya Devi Temple consisting of brick structures in a cross-wall system dating from the 3rd century BC and the sandstone and Ashoka pillar with its Pali inscription in Brahmi script.

Have a good rest in the evening after the long but exciting bus journey to freshen up for the remainder of this astonishing journey!

Day 4: Explore the most sacred place on Earth

Your morning will start with a healthy breakfast. Today you will be guided through the Buddhist shrines. You will visit the most sacred place for Buddhists - the Maya Devi temple. This temple sits on the site of the the Buddha's birth, according to Buddhist scholars. You will have the unique chance to visit the Sacred Garden as well as the ruins of Tilaurakot palace , Ramgram Stupa , Gotihawa , Niglihawa and Sagarhawa. You will undoubtedly feel the spiritual power of these places and understand why Lumbini is so important to Buddhists.

Day 5: Back to Kathmandu

After the memorable spiritual journey in Lumbini, today you will be heading back to Kathmandu. The pleasant journey through the mountains alongside the river will lead you to the central Kathmandu. If you have been mesmerized by the beauty of the landscape around you the previous time on this route and have forgotten to take some pictures, now is the time to do it ;)

After you arrive at Kathmandu take a good rest and relax in the evening after the long journey.

Day 6: Swayambhunath - a place of peace and power

Today you will visit one of the important buddhsit shrines in Pharping the Asura Cave where Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche, as he is known affectionately, meditated and achieved the highest realization. Feel the spiritual power of this place and learn more about its history.

After visiting Pharping you will head towards Swayambhunath stupa which lies to the west of central Kathmandu. The area of the Stupa is full of Hindu temples, paintings and the chaityas. Also known as the "Monkey Temple" among visitors from abroad, Swayambhunath sits atop its hill, overlooking most parts of the valley. At the end the day enjoy the breathtaking sunset combined with a panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley.

Bhaktapur - "The City of Devotees"

Day 7: Bhaktapur - "The City of Devotees"

Your day will start wtih a rich breakfast in the comfort of your hotel. After a short 45 minute drive you will arrive at Bhaktapur - an ancient Newar city - often referred to as the "living museum". Bhaktapur Durbar Square is the main highlight located in the 'City of Devotees', as Bhaktapur is also known. The square is popular for its religious, culture and historical heritage.

Next destination on today's schedule is Namobuddha. It is one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal and one of the holiest in the world. It is known as the place where Buddha, in his previous life as a prince, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs. There is a cave with statues of the prince, the tigress and the cubs on this site. Feel the pure spirituality!

Namobuddha - Kathmandu

Day 8: Observe the Buddhisht rituals in Namobuddha

Wake up in the dawn and take a short 20 minutes hike to a panoramic view of the mountain ranges. You may have woken up early but you will be rewarded with a splendid view. You will also have the unique chance to observe the monks at Namobuddha engaging themselves in their daily routine. It is a pleasant sight to see how organized, humble and devoted they are.

In the afternoon you will travel back to Kathmandu and check in to the hotel. You might want to take a rest and relax for the remainder of the day or go out to explore more of Kathamandu.
