From there, your self-drive journey will begin. Drive to the capital of Namibia, Windhoek.

Windhoek - Mariental - Kalahari Desert
Day 2: Drive To The Kalahari Desert
After a hearty breakfast, you will leave the capital via Rehoboth and drive via Mariental to your lodge in the midst of the Kalahari Desert.
Check in and spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. You can book a Nature Drive in an open vehicle at the lodge.

Kalahari - Maltahoehe - Namib Desert
Day 3: Marvel At The Dunes Of The Namib
Today you will depart into the southwestern part of Namibia, into the Dune Wonderland landscapes.
One of the oldest deserts in the world and possibly even the very oldest, the Namib was already arid at least 80 million years ago.
In the South, it extends into South Africa across the Orange River, while in the north it crosses the Kunene into Angola. The greater part of the Namib lies inside Namibia, where it occupies some 1500km of Atlantic coastline.
In width, it generally varies between 80 and 140 km, but in places it reaches inland for as much as 200 km.
The afternoon is yours to spend as you wish.

Sossusvlei
Day 4: Be Amazed By The Sesriem Canyon
Make an early departure to the Sossusvlei and climb one of the highest sand dunes in the world. Sossusvlei is a dune wonderland, with towering dunes up to 300m high surrounding a huge, dried-up pan.
The dunes extend as far as the eye can see and their rich tints vary from pale apricot to vivid reds and oranges.
During a good rainy season, the Tsauchab River flows into the pan, which creates a haven for water birds.
This can be followed by a visit to the Sesriem Canyon. At the entrance to Sossusvlei is Sesriem Canyon, where centuries of erosion have incised a narrow gorge about 1km in length.
At the foot of the gorge, which plunges down for 30m to 40m, are deep pools of water that become replenished after good rains.
Return to your lodge and spend the afternoon at leisure.

Sossusvlei - Walvisbay - Swakopmund
Day 5: Travel To Scenic Swakopmund
After a hearty breakfast, you will depart via Solitaire and Ghaub pass to Walvis Bay.
Here you will visit the Walvis Bay lagoon to view seabirds.
Walvis Bay is Namibia’s major harbor town; it is fast developing into a sought-after haven for spending a holiday at sea.
The attractions are the lagoon with its prolific bird life, altogether some 80 000 wading birds, including flamingos and rare white pelicans can be seen.
Arrive in Swakopmund in the late afternoon and check in.
Swakopmund is much loved by Namibians as a welcome respite from the inland heat. It is also popular amongst visitors because of its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere. Founded in 1892 during the period of German colonial rule, it served as the territory’s main harbor for many years.

Swakopmund
Day 6: Go On A Boat Cruise In Walvis Bay
Today is yours to spend at your own leisure. Swakopmund offers a variety of activities that can be booked upon arrival.
You can go on a boat cruise in Walvis Bay. A 3-hour long boat cruise in the lagoon of Walvis Bay will transport you into another world. Some pelicans and flamingos might be spotted – and regularly dolphins and seals swim alongside the boat, with the possibility of one or two seals jumping into the boat to be fed.
At noon, lunch with snacks, oysters, and champagne will be served in the lagoon.

Swakopmund - Okahandja - Windhoek Region
Day 7: Explore Usakos And Okahandja
From Swakopmund, you will drive via Usakos, Karibib, and Okahandja to your last destination on this trip. The small sun-baked town of Usakos, nestled in the valley of the Khan River, developed around a station on the old narrow-gauge railway built in 1900.
Beyond Usakos is the Trekkopje Battlefield site, on which one of the most important battles was fought during the 1915 campaign involving South Africa and German forces took place. Directly north of Windhoek lies Okahandja, a town of great significance to the Herero because it was the seat of Chief Samuel Maharero.
Every year in August thousands of Hereros , here for a pilgrimage to pay homage at the graves of their great chiefs. Okahandja is an important centre for woodcarvers from the north.
Arrive at the lodge and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
