Detailed Itinerary

Kuala Lumpur International Airport
Day 1: Welcome to Malaysia!
Welcome to Malaysia! You've no doubt had a long flight, so today you have time to simply relax and enjoy.
When you arrive, your local guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. If you wish, you'll have time to embark on a full city tour of amazing Kuala Lumpur. If you are also interested, we can arrange a tour of the Batu Caves to the north of the city. This religious temple is a fascinating place to explore.
When night comes, return to your hotel and rest up for an exciting journey ahead!

Kinabatangan River
Day 2: River Cruise in Borneo
This morning, we will be on the earliest flight to Sandakan. We definitely do not want to waste much time as the flight will take approximately three hours from Kuala Lumpur to the east of Malaysia. Upon arrival, have some snacks or eat your lunch before our boat ride along Kinabatangan River to arrive at the resort.
After lunch, take another cruise along this 560 km length river to explore a waterway remarkably known for its wildlife and fascinating habitats such as limestone caves at Gomantong hill and salty mangrove swamps near the coast. You'll be with a local guide who will point out the highlights along the way.

Kinabatangan River
Day 3: Sunrise on the River and a Nighttime Jungle Hike
Today, you'll get a sneak peek at what is happening along Kinabatangan River before sunrise. If you are lucky, you might spot Orangutan or even pygmy elephants. Head back to the resort for breakfast.
Then you will continue your journey to visit the Orang Asli village (Aborigines Settlement), which has a nomadic lifestyle far from modernization. The Orang Asli's are very friendly and respectful. Experience hands-on how to use a bamboo hunting blowpipe and making fire without lighter or matches.
After lunch, it is an amazing watching time for bird lovers. With about 380 bird species, the park arguably has the highest number of birds of any forest area in Malaysia. The night is not over as we will have a night jungle trekking after dinner. Discover the nocturnal creatures such as deer, tapir, and boar.

Sandakan
Day 4: Visit the Incredible Orangutans
Today you might be lucky to have close contact with an Orangutan. Walk along the planks in the woods to spot Orangutans roaming freely in Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. Learn more about this Centre and the objective of Orangutan projects to protect these endangered animals.
In case you are wondering what Orangutan means, literally from the Malay translation, it means ‘Forest Human’. These amazing creatures share 97% of human DNA and will truly astound you when you see them in the wild.
Make sure you spend time at the Rehabilitation Centre where you can see how they take care of the animals whose habitats have been threatened and lives have been put in danger.

Kuala Lumpur
Day 5: A Last Night in Kuala Lumpur
After breakfast, it's free at leisure for any last-minute shopping around the hotel area. You'll have a little time to spend in town getting something fresh and local to eat before you proceed to check out and transfer to Sandakan airport.
You will arrive back in Kuala Lumpur where you can relax and have a rest day or partake in free and easy activities. Your guide will be happy to recommend awesome places to visit in the glittering capital city before you meet up later at night for a celebratory farewell dinner. It's your last night on the tour, so let's celebrate an amazing journey!

Day 6: Goodbye to You, Malaysia
Your last day in Malaysia has sadly arrived. Take one last morning to enjoy the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur. Stroll through the streets, eat some delicious last meals, and do some last-minute souvenir shopping.
Soon, it will be time to pack your bags. Your friendly driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the airport. It may be the end of your trip, but you'll have memories from your amazing vacation in Malaysia that will last you a lifetime.
