My 19y old daughter and I went with Travel Local and their local partner to Nepal in March 2019. We went trekking for 7 days in the Tamang Heritage Trail and Langtang area then relaxed in Pokhara and Kathmandu. Rojesh helped us to plan the holiday and he was very helpful, knowledgable and efficient. The trek was a great adventure, the snowy mountains breathtaking, the people very welcoming, the villages fascinating. The walking was wonderful, on good paths, around 6 hours per day. Our guide and porter Karma and Phurba were very experienced and kind. I was sometimes nervous on steep paths and high bridges and always felt complete trust in Karma. Karma is highly experienced, he has reached the summit of Everest twice. He was very good at choosing tea houses to stay in and cooked delicious food with fresh ingredients from local gardens. He got along well with the families we stayed with in the mountains. We could not have done the trek without a guide to communicate with the local people and organise places to stay and delicious meals. He was flexible with our needs, adjusting the walks and itinerary to our preferences and the weather. The weather was unusually cold and snowy at the beginning of our holiday so we requested to shorten the trek from 10 days to 7 days. Everyone at the local company and Travel Local was helpful and supportive. Travel and accommodation in Pokhara was arranged and perfect. We spent several days in Kathmandu and had 2 days with Milan the guide who showed us around Swayambunath, old KTM, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur. He was knowledgable and experienced. Hotel Manaslu in Kathmandu was quiet and comfortable. It is a 20 minute walk from Thamel tourist area but quieter. Hotel Barahi in Pokhara was comfortable and well located with a lovely pool. Staff at both hotels were professional. We were met at the airport by Bishnu who arranged all travels. All travel arrangements were well organised, with cars and drivers. My daughter and I had a wonderful holiday with many special memories.
All staff efficient, courteous, professional, kind. Very helpful when we requested a change in the plan. Rojesh was outstanding in his efficiency and professionalism and kindness. Karma was very experienced and professional. Phurba was good natured and helpful. Bishnu arranged all transport very well. Milan good guide and good English.
I was concerned that Phurba our porter did not have suitable shoes/ boots for snow.

Research the different treks, read the guidebooks, choose the time of travel carefully, bring good kit- boots, jackets, suitable bag for the porter to carry, do walking tours of old Kathmandu, see the sights, walk to the Peace Pagoda in Pokhara, enjoy the sunset at the lake in Pokhara, enjoy the Nepalese food, buy gifts from Womens Skills Development Association shops..
The trek, the sights in Kathmandu, the markets and tiny shops in old Kathmandu, relaxing in Pokhara- well everything!
