Amazing trip, your local partners have done a brilliant job!

We traveled to Tanzania after spending 8 days in Uganda where we had the most amazing time. Prior to arriving in Tanzania I was a little worried that Tanzania could not live up to the time we had in Uganda but that was not the case at all. We were treated like VIP and stayed in some amazing lodges and camps. The people in Tanzania are very welcoming and warm and were proud of showing us what Tanzania has to offer. The parks are very varied in environments and wildlife and every day there are new things to experience. We started in Lake Manyara National Park where we saw our first Giraffes which was very exciting, there was also a huge variety of bird life. From there we moved to Central Serengeti where we encountered many big cats such as lions, leopard and cheetahs and my favorite a huge herd of elephants. There were approx 100 animals of all sizes and shapes which was an amazing site. After Central Serengeti we moved to the south for the migration, what a sight hundreds of thousands wildebeests and zebras. That amount of grazing animals also attracted a big number of predators and we were able to observe cheetahs hunting, big prides of lions as well as hyena stealing a kill for two cheetahs. From there we moved to the Ngorongoro National Park where we were lucky enough to see the rhino, which was the icing on the cake.

What was good about our local partner based in Tanzania?

Vanessa from your local partners was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had during the organisation of the trip. Once we arrived in Tanzania we met up with Iris who gave us a very detailed brief of what was to come she also gave us some very good tips and made sure that we had everything we need. We traveled in a very comfortable 4w drive which even included a fridge so that we had cold water available at all time. The camps and lodges booked for us were amazing very comfortable and luxurious and always in amazing locations with good views and very close to wild life.

What could our local partner based in Tanzania improve on?

There is nothing I could think off that needed improving on our trip.

What did you think about the guides or drivers on your trip?

Nico our driver was very experienced, he is very funny and has an amazing amount of knowledge on the history of each National Park, the wildlife and where the best places to see wildlife are. Every evening he would go over the plan for next day and ensured that we had everything we required, he took into account our preferences and ensured that we had an amazing time.

What advice would you give to other travellers planning a trip to Tanzania?

Ensure that you have plenty of time, every day is so different even when you stay in the same park. January and February are a very good time to travel as it is very green everywhere and the migration is in south Serengeti where many of the wildebeests and zebras give birth in February. Make time to visit some of the local communities, we were lucky to be able to do a cycle ride in a community near Lake Manyara as well as visiting a Maasai village which were both very interesting.

What was the most memorable part of your trip?

Seeing the huge numbers of wildebeests and zebras was unbelievable but for me seeing a herd of approx 100 elephants crossing the road by us was a highlight. For my husband seeing the rhinos in the wild was a life time dream come true for my husband
