Ilulissat - diskobay
Day 1: Welcome to Greenland
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Ilulissat. Later in the day, you will meet your guide for an interesting cultural walk that will introduce you to the magic of Ilulissat, its stories, highlights, and traditions.
Your experienced guide will show you the most important sites of this charming and colorful town, located next to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ilulissat Icefjord.
Later in the evening, you will enjoy a boat tour to the icebergs of Diskobay during the midnight sun.
Oqaatsut - Eqip Sermia
Day 2: The Majestic Eqi Glacier
Today’s adventure is a boat trip to Eqi Sermia, also called “the calving glacier”, which is located at the end of the icefjord, about 80 kilometers north of Ilulissat, known for frequent calving. It enables visitors to experience both the sound and sight of this fantastic natural scenery.
The transport to and from Glacier Eqi is by a modern and convenient boat. The route takes you north along the coast, passing Bredebugt, the settlement of Oqaatsut, and a big fjord system called Pakitsoq, where whales and seals can be watched when the season is right.
While sailing through the Ataa Strait, which is surrounded by steep mountains, you will discover bird life and waterfalls. During a break in front of the glacier, waiting for it to calve, a delicious lunch is served.
Sermermiut - Ilulissat
Day 3: Icebergs and Kaffemik
With your experienced hiking guide, you will wander through the Sermermiut Valley with remains of old settlements dating back more than 4500 years in time.
Around 5 pm, you will visit an Inuit family where you will get a real insight into Greenlandic life during a traditional kaffemik ritual. Kaffemik usually includes lots of food, especially coffee, cakes, and pastries, accompanied by tons of great stories.
Spend some play-time with the beautiful husky puppies and learn about their importance in the Inuit community.
Disko Bay - Ilimanaq
Day 4: Sauna with a Backdrop of Mysterious Icebergs
Your final day in Ilulissat will be simply spectacular. In the morning, you will go on a wonderful boat tour in the stunning Diskobay, with mighty icebergs all around you.
A half-day packed with adventure, combining whale watching, an Icefjord cruise, a guided walk around a settlement, lunch, and an easy hike.
Once back to Ilulissat you’ll enjoy some relaxing time in a sauna and hot tub experience with a stunning view over Disko Bay. The best way to end up your day and your time in Ilulissat.
