Day 1: Welcome to Nepal

Welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal. Upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu, a representative will welcome you and assist with a transfer to your hotel in the city. After freshening up, you'll be invited to a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu. Here you can ask any questions about your trip and enjoy your first taste of authentic Nepalese cuisine.

Day 2: Take a cultural tour of Kathmandu

After breakfast, set off on a guided sightseeing tour of the city and its surroundings, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Durbar Square, Patan and the Swayambhunath Stupa. Begin at the Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal's largest Hindu complex dedicated to Lord Shiva and an important spiritual, historic and artistic site. Later, explore the majestic shrines and monuments of Durbar Square before visiting the stupa of Swayambhunath, taking in wonderful views across the city and surrounding landscape.

Day 3: Stay in a Himalayan monastery

Today you'll travel to the hilltop Buddhist pilgrimage site of Namobuddha. The site is home to the ancient monastery of Thrangu Tashi Yangtse, of the Karma Kagyu tradition. This peaceful site also offers beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas. As part of your visit here, you'll get to stay at the monastery with the monks, sharing conversation and observing their way of life in this incredible setting.

Day 4: Travels in rural Nepal

Drive to Bandipur, an old trading town in the mountains and one of central Nepal's hidden gems. It combines traditional village architecture, epic Himalayan views, lovely countryside walks, local adventure sports, and excellent accommodation. It's also an ideal place to break up the drive between Pokhara and Kathmandu, while also getting a relaxing taste of life in rural Nepal.

Pokhara offers a combination of nature and culture and is known as the gateway to the trekking routes of Annapurna. The city has several beautiful lakes and panoramic views of the mountains. This is your last opportunity to stock up on essentials before hitting the Himalayan mountain trails.

Day 6: Take the mountain trail to Ghandruk Village

Start your day with a scenic drive to the village of Nayapul. From there you'll embark on a short, easy hike to the charming village of Ghandruk. The trail is gentle, making it accessible for all levels of hikers and allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the region.

As you approach Ghandruk, you'll be greeted by breathtaking views of the majestic Annapurna and Machhapuchhare mountains. Spend your afternoon exploring traditional stone houses, visiting the local museum, and meeting the warm and welcoming Gurung people. Learn about their rich heritage, traditional attire, and unique customs. After breakfast, take a scenic drive back to Pokhara. Upon arrival, the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you please. For those seeking adventure, Pokhara offers thrilling activities like paragliding over the stunning Phewa Lake, experiencing the adrenaline rush of bungee jumping, or gliding through the treetops on a zipline. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can unwind by the lakeside, enjoy a leisurely boat ride, or simply explore the charming streets of Pokhara, with its vibrant cafes and shops.

Learn about the Tharus' unique customs, traditional way of life, and deep connection to the land. As the day ends, take in the peaceful atmosphere of the village, gaining a deeper understanding of the cultural richness that defines this region as you enjoy a traditional meal.

Day 9: Wildlife safaris in Chitwan

Today is all about immersing yourself in the beauty of Chitwan National Park, one of Asia's premier wildlife reserves. Start your day with a nature walk through the park's lush subtropical forests, guided by an expert naturalist - keep your eyes peeled for exotic birds, deer, and other wildlife.

Next, embark on a serene canoe ride along the Rapti River. Glide quietly over the water as you watch for crocodiles and spot a variety of bird species. In the afternoon, get ready for an exciting jeep safari deep into the heart of the park. As you drive through open grasslands and dense forests, you'll have the chance to trace the footsteps of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Chitwan's most famous resident. With luck, you might even spot Bengal tigers and elephants.
