Day 2: A day out in Agadir

Start the day with some sightseeing in Agadir: with help from a local guide, learn about the city's history across must-see sites. Take a scenic stroll along the beach-lined promenade before driving up a hill to Agadir Oufella, a 16th-century fortress with panoramic views over the city and fishing port. Learn about the production secrets behind argan oil, as you watch how local Berber women produce what is known in Europe as "golden liquid" - this is a truly 100% Moroccan experience, and shouldn't be missed.

Stop at Souk El Had, believed to be the continent's largest urban market, to test your bargaining skills and enjoy some free time exploring. Then, in the afternoon, you'll pack up and leave Agadir behind for the town of Tiznit.

Its fortress-like appearance is certainly impressive, surrounded by imposing walls flanked by two watchtowers. This is a gathering place and warehouse for the Duar people, the rights of whom have been passed down from generation to generation, and who continue to hold religious festivals, weddings and other social events in this space.
