Welcome to Canada! After you've arrived at Halifax Airport, it's time to pick up your rental car.
Afterwards, drive to Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, where you can check into your accommodation and then have the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy this cultural and historical city.

Day 2: Historical Halifax
Discover Halifax today, where European elegance meets historical significance. The city is home to one of the largest natural harbours in the world, which has led Halifax to hold a special place in the country and a significant role during major world conflicts.
Roam tree-lined streets, explore Pier 21's immigration stories and enjoy the beautiful waterfront, as you stroll along the Boardwalk, one of the longest downtown boardwalks in the world.
After lunch, delve into maritime history at the Atlantic Museum and 19th-century military life at the Citadel. Be sure to visit the Seaport Market, Public Gardens and Fisherman's Cove for a delightful blend of history and charm.

Halifax - Peggys Cove - Halifax
Day 3: Lighthouse haven
Embark on a picturesque drive from Halifax to the enchanting village of Peggys Cove this morning. Enjoy the scenic roads fringed with forests and lakes, setting the stage for a day in this charming fishing village. Renowned for its iconic lighthouse and vibrant houses, Peggys Cove is the most famous of Nova Scotia's 160 lighthouses. Day 5: Get a taste for local life
Today. after breakfast, head off and spend your time exploring Louisbourg, nestled on Cape Breton Island's east coast. Wander through the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, a captivating time capsule of the French colony of the 1740s. Strategically built by the water, the fortress offers stunning views and a vivid recreation of daily life through costumed reenactors during the lively summer season. Try your hand at cannon and rifle shooting, as well as lots of family-friendly activities. Finish the afternoon with a stroll along one of the many scenic trails around this historic site.
Head back to Baddeck in the evening in time to explore the town further.

Day 6: Charming Chéticamp
Today, after breakfast you'll set off from Baddeck for the drive to Ingonish, with a stopover in Acadian lands, in Chéticamp. Soak in the panoramic landscapes of the Cabot Trail loop, as you make the leisurely journey along this scenic route.
Chéticamp, an enchanting Acadian town and gateway to the Highlands National Park, is rich in culture. Immerse yourself in Acadian architecture, cuisine, folklore, and the unique language and music of the region. Nestled in the wild lands of Cape Breton, this fishing village captivates with its idyllic charm, making it a wonderful stop along your Canadian road trip.
When you reach Ingonish, it's time to check into your accommodation for a relaxing evening.

Day 7: Picture perfect explorations
Make sure you have a hearty breakfast this morning - you'll be spending today exploring Cape Breton Highlands National Park, home to the breathtakingly beautiful Cabot Trail. This 300km loop, whether traversed by car or bike, is one of the world's most stunning scenic routes. Marvel at steep cliffs, winding bends, ocean vistas, boreal forests and rounded stone beaches.
Discover hidden gems like the village of Meat Cove, St Lawrence Bay, White Cove or Neil's Harbour, each offering a unique charm. Arrive at Twillingate and check into your accommodation. Located at the very end of a rugged coastline, not only does this unique island location make it an adventurer's haven, Twillingate is also renowned as the iceberg capital of the world, residing along the famed Iceberg Alley. Day 12: Wonderful whales
Embark on a nautical adventure departing from St John's after breakfast this morning, sailing past landmarks like Cape Spear and Cabot Tower.
Today, you’ll get to experience one of nature’s most magnificent sights – the world's largest congregation of humpback whales. As well as this heart-stopping sight, you'll also cruise along Witless Bay to observe charming puffins and, if luck permits, get up close to majestic icebergs.
To enhance the maritime experience, a local singer will serenade you with traditional Newfoundland music onboard, completing a day of seabound wonders.
In the evening, head back to your Twillingate hotel to reflect on today's marvels.

Day 13: Central Newfoundland bliss
Drive from Twillingate to Springdale this morning, a village nestled in Newfoundland's heart.
