Podgorica - Rijeka Crnojevica - Lake Skadar Np
Tag 1: Transfer to Rijeka Crnojevića
Welcome To Podgorica! You'll be picked up from the airport and the tour will start from the final, western corner of Lake Skadar National Park, then transfer to Rijeka Crnojevica, a historical area, centuries old. It was the place of the South Slavic people's first printing house in the 15th century, a residence of medieval Montenegro royal dynasties and has been an important marketplace through the ages.
The town is surrounded by amazing nature and, once you've settled into your accommodation, we’ll use the rest of the day to show you the most beautiful spots, as well as historical sights.

Rijeka Crnojevica - Karuc - Dodosi
Tag 2: Paddle through the Karatuna River to Dodosi
Enjoy breakfast this morning before we start our adventure, paddling through a spectacular landscape. Don't forget to bring your camera: you'll get some great views from the lake before exploring another secluded paradise, the bay of Karuc.
Deepwater spots like this are natural shelters for massive schools of fish, which attracted people to build seasonal fishing villages. We’ll stop in Karuc and enjoy lunch from the day's catch of fresh fish.
From Karuc, we'll travel through fields of lilies and channels hidden in bullrushes, joining the magical Karatuna River, which will bring us to another beautiful village called Dodosi.
On arrival, check in to your accommodation, unwind, then get ready to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Dodosi - Zabljak Crnojevica - Poseljani
Tag 3: Explore magical old Montenegrin villages
After breakfast, we'll climb back in our kayaks and visit the old fort of Zabljak Crnojevica, which used to be the capital of Montenegro and was an important location during the Ottoman Empire.
Afterwards, we’ll paddle on to Karatuna, which will take us through a beautiful forest of willows and back to the lake, with its old fishermen’s channels, before we reach Poseljani Village.
This village, once one of the busiest settlements in the area, lost its importance with industrial development in the 20th century and was fully abandoned in the 1990s.
We'll hike for approximately two hours through the village, enjoying a magical mix of lush nature and the remains of old mills and palaces, as well as a great panorama of the lake.
Enjoy dinner with a local host, then bed down under the stars as you camp in the middle of this inspirational natural landscape.

Poseljani - Moraca Eco-resort
Tag 4: Easy paddling in a birdwatchers' paradise
After breakfast with local hosts, today we’ll spend another day in the narrower part of the lake, bobbing between lilies and beautiful islands, before reaching the mouth of the lake's biggest tributary.
The Moraca is one of most famous rivers in Montenegro and is a paradise for birds. Its source is deep inland and it flows under many bridges in Podgorica, finishing in beautiful style in the largest lake in the Balkans.
When we arrive there, your tour guide will teach you more about the lake and all about survival skills in nature. Afterwards, we'll enjoy lunch and you'll have a chance to swim.
Later, we head to your eco resort, where you can enjoy dinner, relax on the waterside terrace with a drink and rest before the next day full of adventure.

Moraca Eco-resort
Tag 5: Visit fascinating historical sites
Although kayaking is the main activity of this tour we’re using today to do something different.
After a leisurely breakfast, there are plenty of great options on offer, such as visiting the Medjurec Canyon, the former royal capital of Cetinje, the mausoleum of 19th-century ruler, poet and philosopher Njegos at Lovcen Mountain, or Boka Bay and Kotor's Old Town.
After a full day of absorbing Montenegro's history and culture, return to your lodge for another evening of dinner, drinks and relaxation by the water.

Tag 6: Explore the beautiful islands & bays of Skadar
Today, there will be a long day of paddling ahead, so enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge.
First, you'll pass the rest of the loop around Vranjina Island, enjoying views of the steep slopes of the Rumija Mountain and Albanian Alps.
We’ll see some of the most famous and beautiful spots of this part of the National Park: the prison island of Grmozur, the beautiful bay of Radus Oko, Krnjice village and, finally, the serene group of islands called Murici.
After around 20km of paddling, we'll head for a beautiful beach, where we stop for the day. You can swim and relax while your guide prepares dinner, then we'll spend the night under the stars and camp here.

Murici - Ckla - Ostros
Tag 7: Enjoy amazing views of the Albanian Alps
Today, enjoy breakfast on the beach before getting back in your kayak and exploring more of Lake Skadar.
Today, you’ll be paddling in the widest part of the lake, with a spectacular view of Albanian shore and high mountain peaks on both sides. Afterwards, we'll head towards the Murici Islands – including Beska, the biggest island in the area.
Here, learn about King Vladimir and his wife Kosara, who established the first Montenegrin country at the end of 10th century, as well as stories about the national and religious diversity of this region, and the interesting traditions of Albanian people.
We’ll finish paddling at at Ckla Village and then take a ride up to Ostros village to visit some more sights, such as the oldest church in Montenegro, old mills and a breathtaking ancient forest of massive chestnut trees. We'll have a chance to taste some delicious cuisine to end our adventure.
