During this incredible eight-day trip, you will have the opportunity to attend the traditional Naadam Festival, held annually on 11-12 July, and visit the awe-inspiring Gobi Desert.
Highlights include; admiring the sunrise over the Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs, enjoying a camel ride through the Khongor sand dunes of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, and hiking to the infamous Yolyn Am (Lammergeier Gorge). You will do this and more, all whilst experiencing the true hospitality, culture and traditions of the country's nomadic people, whose lifestyle has remained since the days of Genghis Khan.

You’ll arrive in Ulaanbaatar where a driver will collect you from the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the heart of the city. Once you’ve checked into the hotel, feel free to freshen up and relax before enjoying the rest of the day at your own pace, leisurely discovering the city.

Tag 2: Explore the charm of Ulaanbaatar
Get ready for a jam-packed day of exploring Ulaanbaatar! Start your tour with a visit to the Gandan Monastery, home to the impressive 26m gilded statue of Migjid Janraisig. Next up is the National Museum of Mongolia, where you can learn about the country's rich history and culture.
After a delicious welcome lunch at a local restaurant, continue the tour with a visit to the Bogd Khaan Winter Palace Museum and Zaisan Memorial. Take in the beautiful panoramic views of the city from the top of the hill before heading to the traditional folk concert for an evening of music and dance.
As you wander through the Sükhbaatar Square, make sure to stop and admire the Genghis Khan monument. Finally, take a glimpse at the parliament building before returning to your hotel after a day filled with unforgettable experiences.

Tag 3: The natural beauty of southern Mongolia
Start your day by taking a morning flight to southern Mongolia, where you will embark on an adventure to Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park. Upon arrival, visit the park’s museum to learn about the diverse flora, fauna, and dinosaur remains found in the park. Take a leisurely walk down to the infamous Yolyn Am (Lammergeier Gorge), whilst keeping watch for rare wildlife sightings.
After a morning of exploring, it’s time to check in to your accommodation for the next two nights, the Dream Gobi Lodge, where you’ll take a moment to enjoy lunch before driving to the the Flaming Cliffs, famous for their stunning red and orange rock formations. You’ll visit a local nomadic family to experience their traditional lifestyle whilst learning to cook a delicious Mongolian dish.
As the day draws to a close, watch in awe as the sun sets over the Flaming Cliffs, providing a breathtaking and inspiring view.

Tag 4: Dunes, camels & starry skies
Start your day early with a hearty breakfast and a thrilling drive to Khongor sand dunes, the largest and most beautiful in Mongolia. Along the way, marvel at the vast desert and distant mountains, admiring the surreal beauty of nomads on camelback amidst the mirages.
Upon arrival, take in the breathtaking views of the sand dunes stretching over 200km in the arid Gobi Desert. Have a satisfying lunch and prepare for an adventure-filled afternoon. Climb the dunes and capture stunning photographs before enjoying a thrilling two-hour camel ride.
As the evening approaches, head back to your unique accommodation and indulge in a delicious dinner. Experience the awe-inspiring starry skies of the Gobi Desert as you sleep under the stars, reminiscing about your unforgettable Gobi adventure.

Tag 5: The majestic Gorkhi-Terelj National Park
Take the short flight back to Ulaanbaatar and then drive to the impressive 46m statue of Genghis Khan on horseback, the largest equestrian statue on earth!
Continue to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park and enjoy lunch at a deluxe camp. In the afternoon, explore the park's stunning scenery and cultural landmarks, visiting the iconic Turtle Rock and Temple of Meditation to discover more about Mongolian spirituality and culture. Return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation in the serene surroundings of the park.

Gorkhi-terelj National Park - Khui Doloon Hudag - Ulaanbaatar
Tag 6: Experience traditional Mongolian horse racing
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Khui Doloon Hudag to witness the exciting Naadam Festival, a traditional Mongolian festival where you’ll witness three-year-old horses and their young riders race for the title. Visit a horse trainer’s tent to learn about the nomadic lifestyle and culture, and enjoy a refreshing drink of airag, the traditional mare’s fermented milk.
In the afternoon, return to Ulaanbaatar. The rest of the day can be spent at your leisure; explore the city, shop for souvenirs or simply relax and enjoy the comforts of your hotel. Get a good night's rest to gear up for more exciting Naadam festivities the next day.

Tag 7: The thrill of Naadam Festival
Experience the official opening ceremony of the Naadam Festival! This is Mongolia's biggest celebration, and you will be a part of the thrilling atmosphere as you witness wrestling, archery, and ankle bone shooting competitions, all taking place right in the stadium. The locals will be dressed in their best traditional costumes, and you can immerse yourself in the festival's unique energy and excitement. The festival is a public holiday, and both competitors and Naadam-goers from far and wide come to participate in this special event.
As the day draws to a close, you'll spend your final evening in Mongolia in the Central Square of Ulaanbaatar, watching the Naadam Festival fireworks.
