Start the day early, and grab a hearty breakfast before you take a flight to Churchill, the polar bear capital of Canada!
This unique northern town is situated on the shores of Hudson Bay, on the Arctic Ocean, and lies on the migration route of polar bears and beluga whales. Around 850 polar bears live in the area around the town - that's almost one bear for every inhabitant! On the way to your hotel, your guide will give you a few safety tips for your stay.
Grab dinner in the town center of Churchill before heading to your accommodation.

Tag 8: Head into the tundra
Today you'll set off in a buggy through the wilderness to meet the polar bears that live in the region, observing the polar bears in their natural environment. October and November are the best months as this is the period when the ice begins to form, allowing them to move northwards and resume their hunting season.

This morning, you'll have the unique opportunity to meet one of Churchill's esteemed mushers, hailing from the First Nations. Delve into the fascinating history of the human-dog relationship as it pertains to his ancestors, gaining insight into its profound significance. Engage your guide in discussions about the intriguing dynamics between bears and dogs, uncovering surprising connections. Then, embark on an exhilarating sleigh ride to venture into the picturesque surroundings, immersing yourself in the wintery landscape of Churchill.
